With the high crime rate, the control by mafia, prostitution and corruption, there is one thing which I wonder about.
How is it possible that in the main cities of Ukraine and Russia it actually feels and looks more safe than in the main cities of many Western countries, including the USA ?
The 'bursting bubbles' discussion sounds like the prisoner who was missing some personal stuff and went to the director to tell him there were thieves in his prison. 

If being involved in one of the topics the OP mentioned is reason for your woman to put her ad on a marriage site, my opinion is that you better move on.

It might be an illusion, but it is one that seems to work for me. I have in the past made it my habit to visit big cities, so I have material to compare with. List ? Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Köln, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Nürnberg, München, Paris, Perpignan, Lyon, London, Birmingham, Cambridge, Manchester, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisboa, Roma, Milano, Firenze, Bologna, Kobenhavn, Gothernborg, Oslo, Buenos Aires, Rosario, Istanbul, Ankara, New York, Atlanta, Kiev, Moscow.

Comparing these cities for the 'illusion' of safety, Kiev and Moscow are in the top 5.

Out of the 33 cities you mention I have been to 28 or so, plus a couple others.. There is no place I feel less at 'home' than the good ol' USA, believe it or not..  Try M.Luther King Jr. Dr. for example in Atlanta.. we were terrified.. or missing the exit for the airport in Norfolk VA and having to ask directions..  I must say that in VA the 'locals' helped out.. but I would have felt much more comfortable asking for directions to SVO in Moscow..

If you get a hint in the correspondence that the woman is not satisfied with her life or clearly looking for a way to escape, you must seriously consider the idea that she will leave with the first guy who asks her, not the first guy that answers her desires in a man.
When she has been involved in things like prostitution, AIDS, drugs or the criminal circuit you should really wonder if there is a possibility these things might turn up at a later and probably inconvenient time.

While there may be exceptions, these are ingredients for horror stories. If you do take the risk, at least know that you will be beating the odds if you succeed.
