I know the folks at AngelsToLove very well. Kevin and Andy. I went out with some of their girls last year.

However, I take a neutral stance toward them until I hear some positive feedback from others who have used their services.

Although their socials have been fun in the past, I do not have a high opinion of their overall tours and thus, wait to hear positive feedback from their other participants. A few engagements have occurred. Some of the girls there are also on Elena's Models.

TP- I smell a shill. Most of the time these innocent little posts from new members asking about the Great Satan in the industry are from their own tour department.

The lad does a lot of researching very quickly for someone who is new to the game. And post "good" things from othe rquestionable sources

Orlando: Jims Lists is not highly regarded by people who have been involved in this pursuit for a while.  I differ from some in so far as I don't condemn everything he says.  IE: Warnings that this pursuit is not simple and there is a lot of scammers out there.  However as for his agency recommendations and condemnations, it seems to depend on who is paying him best at the time.  Jim is not respected by very many people.  

Again, I suggest you read the FAQ section here, several times.  I understand it was originally put together by a guy who has been long married to a Russian Lady and has spent more time in Russia than most of us ever will, with assistance from others who know what they are talking about also. Read it carefully as there is a lot of sound advice in there which will answer most of your initial questions.

Nobody here is going to come straight out and say, "Yes use this or that website because it is wonderful".  Because no such animal exists (Wonderful website). What you can find here IF YOU READ is various people's accounts of their various experiences.

thank's so much for your post and i will read the FAQ. When i see this site(russianwomandiscussion.com) i can read that the people that post here are real and not promoting scam's sites or other sites like anastasiaweb and HRB that only play with newby like me, then i registered only for ask for a recommendation site from these guys like you that passed this step years ago and have experience on this topic.

I used AFA to meet one girl but I couldn't get past their stupid email inbox exchange.  I tried to get her contact info but it was obvious someone was screening that out.  And AFA didn't have an office in the city I went to, so its not like they were trying to make me pay them to meet her.  I simply had no way of meeting her through AFA that I could think of.  Fortunately I found her at another agency and was able to meet her that way...

I know it's been mentioned in here several times before but I can't impress on you how important it COULD be to slow down on contacting girls and start Reading everything in here you can.

There's plenty of time to contact girls but first read the trip reports section and as much from the archives as you can.

It's really tempting to start writing but you'll see a very recent thread from a new member who tarted writing and thought he'd met a great catch and $300 later it turns out "she" was probably Fat Yuri...

On the subject of sites I'd say there's a few basic rules:

Don't use any site that charge per letter;
Don't trust anyone you meet on a site until you meet them in person;
If you're using a site to contact girls with minimal English (and needs translation) only write a maximum of 3 letters (1 to say hello and you're coming over, one to say you've booked your ticket and want to meet, One to confirm you're on your way and looking forward to meeting her.

Don't get drawn into long periods of correspondence if the correspondence costs ANYTHING...  You need to meet the ladies face to face.

It would help if you answered each of Shadow's questions.  The experienced guys could use that input to help you.  It would also demonstrate your sincerity.

I think the most important question you need to answer is whether you feel that you could and want to travel to FSU alone? 

-  If "no", work with an agency such as Richard's or a tour such as Jack's. 

-  If "yes", use Elena's Models.  EM provides info such as the last time the woman logged on and the percentage of times she has answered men's first letter.  One problem with EM, you may end up attracted to women spanning 12 time zones.   

No insult intended - you look as if you do not need to shave every day, and it would behoove a young man to pay attention to what the older guys suggest.

Thank you for the endorsement of the FAQ section.  I did moderate that project and I thought it came together nicely.  It's good to see it being recommended to the newbies as a factual resource for information.

BTW, our 5 years married (7 years together) is not a record here, and my length of time spent in Russia has now been eclipsed by several others.  Another byproduct of 5 years of marriage is that as my wife's English skills continue to improve, my once fairly strong Russian has faded, I use it less and less.  I still understand conversational Russian but I find it increasingly difficult to articulate a thought beyond asking her where the stupid dog is.  However, I'm still capable of sitting down with a packet of butter crackers and finishing off a whole tin of caviar by myself, so I haven't completely lost the touch.

  JB: Point was and is, I've been to Russia and several other FSU countries several times and I got quite a deal out of that section.  If I can, then a freshman can surely get a lot.

The one thing I dislike about it is the naming FAQ, as by measure of most internet sites one tends to see that as a "How to use the site" section rather than a subject resource and therefore many often pass over it initially as I suspect the author of this thread has done. I also think their maybe a case for updating that section at some future time.

BTW, I find one does not tend to lose their touch (taste) for Dry White Bread, Russian Caviar and the odd decent Vodka to wash it down with.

Orlando,  Just for the record I met my former fiancee, Luda, through AFA.   I think AFA is not the worst place on the internet.   I think if we rated sites on a 1 - 10 scale most of us would give them a 2-3.   Hot Russian Brides and Confidential Connection would be lucky to get a 1.   Bride.RU perhaps a 5.   

I think one thing you need to think about is how you want to go about meeting a woman.  One route is the get addresses and write.   Elena's would be one of your best options if you want to go that way.   Another is to use an agency and go to a city such as TVER and have them line up meetings with 2 - 5 women a day until you meet the right one.  Agencies such as Tver Angels, Kershon Girls, A Russian Pearl, Lviv Brides, and many more you can read about here are excellent choices.   Another route is the tour route.   Forget AFA for that.   There is only one worthwhile tour and that is www.firstdream.com.   The other methods include just going there and meeting women on the streets, moving there and teaching English etc., placing classified ad's (ask Thor)

That was the intent.  We see some of the same questions asked by almost every newbie who comes on board.  Some of us OMBs would have to trot out the same old, tired, stock, answers each time a new person popped in.  The intent was to save some repetition of threads.  It's still a problem to some extent and we know and understand that the FAQ section will someday need to be revised and updated.  In fact, if anyone sees another topic that wasn't covered by the existing FAQ, and has the knowledge of the subject, I'm pretty sure Dan would post an amendment or addition to the FAQ section almost at any time.  Feel free to exercise your writing skills if you feel you have something valuable to add.  While it was pretty much my baby in the inception, and I'd not like to see it's arms and legs torn off, I'm also sure it can be improved.

There's nothing wrong with any site that gives you the direct addresses of the girls you're writing to IF you follow the 10 commandments...

The sites that scam will almost always be the ones that charge for correspondence or translation... If you get an address off bride.ru or freepersonals.ru AND you are cautious you CAN find a great girl...

And I'll agree with both DKMM and Kuna, Bride.Ru can produce some diamonds. Yes of course there are going to be some scammers on this site, all sites will have some scammers.  But to the mangement of Bride.Ru's credit, they will remove any woman who has been reported as a scammer.

Why only look at agency sites?? Most of this sites are only looking for your money. Yes I know that Richard and Kevin have good agency's. But there is a lot, A LOT of scam agency's out there. Remember agency's are mostly business...

There are other ways to meet girls like I did when I meet my wife, I used a private helper in Kharkov who runned neswpapers ads for me. You can also look at free ads like Kuna did. there are many ways to be sucessfull, just find a way that you like.

Here are some good advises:

-Prepere well before your trip.
-Read all you can on this board
-Stay in only 1 city, don't waist time travel around
-Ask your self what kind of girl you are looking for, age, height, hair colour, profession and so on
-What about dating girls with children?
-Be very specific about the girl you want to find
-Learn some basic Russian. Some young peoples speaks good English but most don't.

Dating FSU girls is very funny, but it is very different from dating back home since FSU girls grew up in a different culture. This culture is not as nice as back home. They can be very suspicious, jealous, but they are also VERY VERY beautiful, clever, and cool . Basically the best girls in the world!!
