How's this for Russian Culture:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 MOSCOW (Reuters) - A woman set fire to her ex-husband's penis as he sat naked watching television and drinking vodka, Moscow police said Wednesday.
Asked if the man would make a full recovery, a police spokeswoman said it was "difficult to predict."
The attack climaxed three years of acrimonious enforced co-habitation. The couple divorced three years ago but continued to share a small flat, something common in Russia where property costs are very high.
"It was monstrously painful," the wounded ex-husband told Tvoi Den newspaper. "I was burning like a torch. I don't know what I did to deserve this."
"Marriage is that relation between man and woman in which the independence is equal, the dependence mutual, and the obligation reciprocal."
My wife enjoys Mr. Bean and it was one of the few comedies there that I could watch and actually enjoy.  We would sit and watch Comedy Central which had a series of stand up comics and my wife and daughter would be rolling on the floor.  I speak pretty decent Russian, but I just couldn't get it.  Too much innuendo I guess.  My wife watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail in English with me and hated it.  They do tend to prefer more "corny" and slapstick humor.  One program that we both watched and enjoyed tremendously was "Nasha Russia".  That show is really hilarious and anyone who understands even a little Russian should download some segments and check it out.
I plan to take great pains to see that my wife never hears about the news report posted below.  I want to rest assured that I can sit naked watching television and drinking vodka without fearing for the safety of my privates.
Speaking of British humour
Hey Ste, have you seen a movie called "Dog Soldiers"?  It's about a squad of British soldiers in the Scottish Highlands that run across a pack of werewolves.  One of my favorite scenes is when a soldier is holding his own against a werewolf in a kitchen using pots & pans and anything else he can get his hands on. A second werewolf enters the fight and they pin the soldier against the wall and he looks the werewolves straight in the snout and says in classical British defiance
"I hope I give you the $hits ya bloody bastard!!"
 That accent makes it perfect!!
Necessitas dat ingenium
