Not really surprised.  It just verified my thoughts that they were targeting an audience that would feel threatened by the idea of AM finding them undesirable and looking elsewhere for good wife material. They have to feel that they are not at fault for this, but that the men who reject them and look elsewhere are flawed in some way, as are the women they pursue.

I didn't see the show but I was flipping through channels and caught the tail end of another of her shows.  What was interesting to me was that, as they panned the audience, I saw only one man.  the vast majority of the rest were overweight females.

There is a little known fact that most of these television shows and the researchers overlook: women are also active players in the "sexual tourism" industry. Hundreds of thousands of middle-class women from the Americas and Europe descend upon poor developing countries looking for a much younger virile man to pleasure them while on vacation. These men tend to be poor and they rely on these women for their survival.

This phenomenon is quite healthy in Canada where women will go to the Caribbean for sex. According to the National Post:

"All the coverage prompted an essential question: Is sex tourism by women any better or worse than sex tourism by men?

Does it just represent a new twist on exploitation of the Third World poor -- in other words, prostitution with the roles reversed, the woman paying the man? Or is it simply a case of women exercising their right to choose what to do with their bodies?

There is no single correct answer, just points of view coloured by politics and morality. But scholars agree on one thing: Female sex tourism is common enough and big enough to merit serious academic attention.

By some estimates, 600,000 western women have engaged in travel sex some time during the past 25 years -- many of them as repeat customers, returning to the tropics every winter for some sun and some action.

'Seeing it in operation, it's quite a phenomenon. There's a whole system,' said Kamala Kempadoo, a global sex-trade expert who teaches at York University in Toronto. Of Guyanese descent, she did field work on female sex tourism in Negril in 2000 and 2001.

'It's not just women on the beach, it's the night life. You go to a party and see couple after couple of older, quite substantial -- I mean overweight -- white women with very young, very lithe black men,' Kempadoo said. 'It's quite a curious thing.'" Not only do women go to these poorer countries for sex with much younger men, there are also racist overtones as well: "But the names the men and women are known by colloquially belie the true nature of the transaction, some research suggests. It's sex for hire, where black men's flesh is tied -- at least temporarily -- to white women's purse-strings." (see article cited above)

Canadian women have been pioneers in the phenomenon. According to the article: "In Barbados, female sex tourism has been dubbed 'Canadian secretary syndrome.'"

Alas, I have even heard tales of women falling in love with their vacation lovers and than wanting to bring them back home, trying to sponsor them.... So, who knows, it may only be a matter of time before "mail-order husbands" emerge on the scene :-) I wonder what Tyra and others will say then?

There are "de facto" tours, however, such as airplanes bound to the Gambia in West Africa full of British and Scandinavian women seeking affairs with beach boys. Often such trips are referred to by women as "romance tourism."

I think that 600.00 women in the past 25 years is a too much little number... since we speak about Negril...

1.3 million tourist year... let say 33% men, 33% kids and 33% women... it make 433.333 women year... where around 1/3 have sexual relationship... so, we are 144.444 women year... where 2/3 make it for economic element ( they don't call it prostitution )... 96296 women sex tourist year...

Now, let say that the margin error is 50%... it is a huge margin error... minimum 48148 women sex tourist YEAR... if we count this on 25 year, we are the more that the double of what your article say... and this example is only for 11 km of beach !!!! What it will be worldwide !!!

But i know one place where these fat ugly old women seeking sex cannot find it... see the pic below...

I read the piece, very nice. The sad part is that the women are exploiting the men and they are much more callous than even the worst husband with a foreign wife. At least the "mail-order brides" bemoaned by Tyra et al. did get married and did move to the United States (or Canada or the UK or wherever). The boys that the women seek in the travels will rarely get green cards. The article you cite states: "Clinton is one of hundreds of young men working the beach and, like most of the "beach boys", he is desperately poor. His primary income comes from accompanying lone female travellers who want sex with Jamaican men." What do you think the odds are that he will marry one of his "milk bottles" and move to another country? Slim-to-none is my guess. So, the moral of the story is when women go overseas for sex, it is "romance", but when men marry a woman from overseas, it is shameless exploitation and should be outlawed. Go figure

Maybe... but sometime, these sex tourist ( men or women ) can lead to a lot of problem when they promise marriage...

Best example is a journalist from my own country ( Belgium ) :

Philippe Servaty is a Belgian journalist who formerly worked for Brussels-based newspaper Le Soir. While in Morocco from 2002–05, he engaged in sex with over 80 women, promising to take them to Belgium. Before leaving for Belgium, he asked them for sexual photos as souvenirs, and photographed them in poses that could be seen as degrading. After returning to Belgium, he published the photos on the internet under the pseudonym Belguel, including anti-Islamic captions such as, “there is no better drug than to ejaculate on the veiled face of a woman”.

At least one of the women filed a complaint to the police in Morocco, after a CD-ROM of the pictures began circulating in marketplaces in Agadir. The police arrested her, as well as many of the other women pictured, as posing for pornographic photos is a crime in Morocco. At least two of the women attempted suicide while in prison, and several have disappeared, either in hiding or murdered by their families in honor killings. Moroccan authorities asked Belgium to press charges against Servaty. Belgium declined, as the photos are not illegal under Belgian law. He may face charges for making anti-Islamic statements, though, a crime under Belgian and European Union laws. Additionally, Moroccan authorities have stated that he will be arrested if he returns to Morocco; he had previously been arrested there for possession of pornography. Due to the scandal, Servaty resigned from Le Soir.

Families of the photographed women have placed a bounty on his head, and both he and his wife received death threats. Servaty was forced into hiding in fear for his life. Servarty said in an interview that he was a sex addict and apologized for his actions.

For me, sex tourism is not a problem... the sex tourist pay, the prostitute give a "service"... simple commercial transaction... local or international marriage ( or promise of marriage ) are relationship... problem appear when a sex tourist use someone who seek marriage, when the two "world" collide... usualy, sex tourist have no interest in the culture of their sex victim... and in some case, like these here, it can lead to the dead of the women, or in the best case, to jail...

Show like the Tyra Show cannot make the difference between the bad and good people, or they don't wish make the difference... a sex tourist is not welcome in our communauty... seek here the only one trip report who was almost a sex trip... and see the reaction of other... the same on the side of ladies... the ladies who seek seriously a life partner don't like scammer, gold digger, etc... they ruin the reputation of the good women...

The majority of people involved in the MOB ( i don't like the term ) are good and honest people... but we hear only from the few exceptions!!!!

William3rd, do you know how many abuse petitions that have been filed in your area by yourself or collegues for men? How many you have heard of? I had a RW immigration attorney tell me she filed 12 out of about 200 I-360 cases of her's. All passed except the last two which were in process. I am trying get an idea how common of a happening this is. Are they for emotional abuse mostly?

The only hard stats are the ones from USCIS that showed approvals at about 75% I believe, which was down from 10 years ago. I have been involved in a couple of dozen over the years. I filed about 16 and turned most of the Russian/Ukrainian ones away.

Some people reported problems, some managed to open it without problems. I never used this source before, so I really cannot help here on technical side....

  Seems the educational process for others who know little or nothing in this field are learning as are we.

After about 20 ties, I finally got it to work. Maybe my older computer using Windows 2000 has something to do with it.

Seems like they cut out some parts and one member from another forum told me they promised him and his wife the term "mob" will not be used referring to his wife which in turn encouraged them to go on the show. They were lied to.
