Guys I just watched it. It was terd polishing at it's finest.  I was on the set for about 90% of it,and what made the final cut was way better than what I witnessed live.

 Ashley's little stunt never made it. Micheal blaming John for his 40k loss on a scammer never made it.  The angry rub-on-tan lawyer guy was cut right out. Ashley lost out on alot of airtime. He was there promoting his biz a 10k fee   Ashley accusations against AFA for having porn sites was also cut.

 The show still sucks no matter how you view it.

Angry? Me? No just telling the cold hard truth. Walk into any Super WalMart on any given weekend and spend some time looking at the average AW then suggest something different. While I am self employed I do spend a great deal of time in corp. America and by far the vast majority of AW go from overweight to out right fat, those few one would consider "normal" think their $hit does not stink. As for being thankless self serving ditches, I read elsewhere on this forum that he could see the AW woman across the dinner table on a date checking off in her mind how big the man's bank account was, that he had a well paying job, house, nice car not who the man was but what she (he AW) could get from him.

And Mike wasnt able to discuss how the management of AFA ADVISED him that the scammer's mother really did have cancer (she didnt) and needed financial help? Too bad as well.

Did they leave in the part about the threats of lawsuits or did that end up on the cutting room floor too?

I will hope to catch a re-run of that. . . .

I agree. In fact, we did that - sort of - this past weekend when the TV crew came to Denver. All the people they met are excellent representatives of international dating/marriage. The problem is - that is not what sells programming, so we still do not know how the tv company will 'spin' the information they received.

I don't recall if it was you who told me, or someone else - but can you confirm that the original premise of the program was to be discussion of IMBRA? I was told that was the reason for your participation, and for TJC's participation.

If so - did IMBRA even receive mention?

No- the original premise was not based in IMBRA but the TJC was invited to discuss the problems in MOB relationships, particularly VAWA issues. There was no mention of IMBRA to me at any time, even during the background interviews.  I mentioned IMBRA in passing to the production people but there was no real interest in discussing it- too deep for the public interest, I am sure.

The premise was more of "Mail Order Brides- An Option but Beware." They seemed to be trying to show that there are options available overseas but it is not a magic cure for relationships. Then they went off into the problems of MOB-everything from VAWA to scammers. Too overly broad a subject to handle in that fashion.

The production of that show was one of the worst that I have ever seen. Tyra Banks had to be medicated due to a back ailment. They were running late on the Hulk Hogan piece (that they showed last year) when we got there. I hung out with Mike for a few hours in our dressing room-I have known Mike for years.

We were supposed to be done by 3PM. I didn't get out of there until about 6 and had to get to the football field by the end of practice. I missed the last part of the filming.

For the record- that is not a rub on tan that I have-that is a corvette tan.

Ahhhh man.  I would have loved to have been able to see that.  If the producers of the Tyra Banks show wanted to really show the ugly side of this business they missed there golden opportunity. Maybe someone did holler law suit loud enough to get that cut from the show.  Porn and marriage agency?  For some reason the two just do not sound like they should go together.

HOW can John Adams deny HIS name was associated as Custodian of Record of some 20-30 ACTIVE porn sites??  How?  Maybe John let some friend use his name and John did not know what this supposive friend was using his name for over some 4-5 year time period.   Yea, sounds like a good excuse to me, I'd buy it, wouldn't you?

I sure was angry at the production staff that day- I was assured that we would be out of there by 3 or so. The coaches take a dim view of players being left hanging on the field after practice. Running from the studios east bound during rush hour is not pleasant. If I had known that the production was going to take that long, I probably would have passed.

As far as cornholio goes, I do not know him from Adam but he spends alot of time dissing people he knows nothing about. We had no interaction on the set at all.

Just got off the telephone with Mike and invited him to come on board here. He doesnt remember talking to cornholio either.

Jack- the lawsuit screaming was made on the tape by the subject. It ended up on the cutting room floor apparently. The name and address for custodian of records were correct, so how can there be a denial? Maybe it is all just a plot. . . ..

Ashley is probably one of the worst people who should be calling the kettle black. The guy boasts photographing more women than anyone in the world. He also had his beauty pagent for his customers on shows like Hard Copy showing women in skimpy bikinis and lingere doing seductive dancing almost as if they were professional strippers. I watched the videos on his website. Through the grapevine, I heard some of the women were as young as 16.

I haven't spent too much time looking to see if John Adams of AFA is actually into porn and sells sex tours as claimed but anybody can make a fake website and stick another person's name on it.

One well known member from another forum said he had assurances from the production staff that MOB would be the farthest theme of the show. They lied to him.

I'm still shaking my head at why a 58 yo guy who got scammed for $40,000 would even think about putting himself on tv.

If the media wants they could find all kinds of suckers right here in America getting scammed by American women. A woman told me about her sister. After her sister divorced, she was in serious relationships, some at the same time, with a business owner, a judge, two attorneys, an engineer, and a doctor. She wanted to marry the doctor because he was a millionaire but the doctor wouldn't divorce his wife. So the women went to live with the engineer while the doctors wife became aware of the affair. The doctor's wife's behavior and the fact she became cold to him after becoming aware of the affair drove him to divorce. The woman made the engineer remodel the house with the finest materials around but after the doctor came calling, she told the doctor if he wants her back, he would have to come to the engineer's home and move her out personally in which he did. She purposely made the engineer redecorate the home for the 6 months she lived with him to show the doctor she has exquisite tastes and needs to live in style. Her plan was to use the engineer while she created havoc in the doctors marriage. Now she's married to the doctor and runs his office. She had the doctor fire all his previous staff and she hired only people she approve of. As of today, the doctor believes she's the best woman he's ever found.

Now, being married to a millionaire, she sends her kids, who drives sports cars, to a big university out of State where the tuition is 3 times more than if they went in State. She forces her ex through court to pay half. He's a lowly computer programmer who paid for her boob job that other men now get to enjoy. Of course he tried to protest saying he can't afford it but he lost in court.

The judge and 2 attorneys probably didn't want to pursue her very hard. If they checked her background, she was named in 40 lawsuits in a 10 year period. This was the time she was involved with the scum bag businessman.

It's amazing what men will do to get a woman and what they will put up with from her just because of what she has between her legs.

Actually, quite a few just yesterday. The WalMart not too far from my house is in an area we call the University area, near one of the UNC campuses, and I see all kinds of attractive, in shape women there    In general, I think one can see a good range of any size, shape, look, etc. at a store like WalMart, both male and female. Except in maybe the plus size area

When he finally left ,my pal turns to me with this look of "what the hell was that !"  Mike told us all about getting scammed,and his new girl that was coming in a few days .

 Maybe you were off the set when he took to the sofa, but to hear the jeers from those girls.......  He was blaming AFA for not saying she was a scammer. But why doesn't he take responsibility for his actions?  He's 58yo  after all.  He wants to blame others for his stupidity, and this is how he was able to show up and be made a fool of. Any guy who has it together ,wouldn't boast about the age of his latest bride, nor would he of been scammed like that. Further more ,if one did get scammed as bad as he did, they surely would show up to tell their story.
 
 So you see, he can't take responsibility for himself,and by blaming others he justifies his actions.

Dan I have said this before these shows are pre-written, the writers/producers have already decided what the "show" will be like. I am not a bit surprised by the account you linked above, I would never be part of any production as I do trust these TV people.

Honestly I hope your experience with the Canadian TV people bodes well for you but they have total control over how the interviews will be edited and their masters at the TV networks (US or Canadian) will decided what will and will not be aired as well as how the final production will look.
