UPDATE: THANKS TO ALL for your support. The key is to get the word out and prevent things like this from happenning again, and though we may not be able to totaly stop it, we can help to prevent it more often by working together armed with all the resources and caring RWD posters we have seen on many of these boards.
WHAT IS MY FEELING RIGHT NOW? At first (Aug 24) I was devastated, sad and shocked. On Aug. 30 when I found out the latest news that she was unfaithful to me, there was some closure because I stopped blaming myself and realized that I just picked a bad egg, and that something is really wrong (upstairs in her head) with this girl and her influences. I just want to help educate others so no one who is trying to do the right things gets burned like I did. I want people to know who this girl is so she does not strike again. Heck, maybe she is engaged to several men for all we know? What are the odds that someone gets busted like this and with photos to prove it? She obviously even changed her name with this Kim guy to hide her little game, but I know that MARIA (MASHA) RYZHKOVA was her real name, becuase it was on the travle documents and her travel passport. I will post more later....
P.S. Her former agency (Allbeautiful.net is even concerned, because they have been one of the small group of good agencies and they know women like this are bad for their business).

BOTTOM LINE: I want to do my part to inform so that other guys with good intentions don't get burned like I did..... And I want to make sure that people are aware of people like Maria.... She messed with a nice guy, ME, and I forgive her, but now I want others to know what she did, so it doesn't happen again.....

Hello to all. First I want to thank BillyB, BC, mspanky, THOR, gabaub, and everyone who who has helped regarding my situation with my former fiancee Maria. The ending which was sad to begin with, gets even crazier with some newly discovered information today. The story was unusual, and now has a few more twists.

On my next post (which will be soon - i promise) will describe the events that led up to the ending of what began as a picture-perfect relationship with a nice girl from Kharkov Ukraine, with no major red flags. For all the new guys out there especially, you will see just how dangerous and unstable the waters can be, and even if you follow many of the rules as have been posted on here at RWD many times, you can still get burned, even if you do all the right things. My story will amaze some, and probably be no surprise to many of the regulars here.

I want also to thank the originators, Dan and the crew for having this board. It saved me from total humiliation and it will serve others looking to venture into the FSU dating scene countless hours of time, aggravation and money.

It really is a small world! Thanks to my fellow RWD posters, I now found out that 2 months after I became engaged to Maria Ryzhkova of Kharkov that she was cheating on me with another American! And I even have the photos for proof! Can you believe that? Crazy! Unreal! Small World! For sure though, A prayer answered to help me bring closure to my journey with Maria.

Why is my story a bit different?
Here is what was scary....

1) No major red flags
2) I was very cautious with my money (no major money to Maria until AFTER our engagement - and then only for university classes and English lessons - NO SPAs or JEWELRY).
3) No money begging by Maria. I always was the one to offer or suggest.
4) She was very proper, courteous, warm but shy, decent and mature for her age.
5) Everytime I did give her money, it always was spent on what she said it would be for (I did some checking)
6) There was no urgency. It was spread over 10 months! Talk about very patient scamming or deceit!
7) She passed the RWD 10 commandments pretty well . She had faults, but we both did, and out positives seem to make us equals. No one was out of their league here.
I did an initial check on her, and possible other web site agency profiles. As she promised, she pulled all of her profiles and many in town vouched for her kindness and honesty.
9) Her letters were all normal. The I LOVE YOU stuff came in deep into the relationship. Our dates in person were also very much normal.
10) She never was interested in Gold-Digger items such as expensive jewelry, and even told me not to waste money on flowers, but to use it for our future needs.
11) We ate at a variety of restaurants, and then she began cooking my meals in my apartment!
11) etc etc etc

This one will leave many shaking their heads.....

So, stay tuned.... I will post the whole story soon / and or modify this post as I get time.... In the meantime, PLEASE, continue to use caution when seeking your future FSU bride..... Be very leary of the MEGA-dating sites..... LISTEN to the advice on these boards and make more educated decisions..... And be thankful for these message forums.... A lot of good and helpful people on here..... Thanks to all..... Be back soon....

UPDATES: Maria's best friend Marina Lazarenko was with us and seemed to be the glue that got us really in sync, and Marina really took a liking to me. Now I found out that while Marina was married to a guy from Finland for 2 years, she was cheating on her husband with some guy from Dubai. And him (Ricardo) and Marina wer madly in love (many french kisses) while she was still married, and she is Maria's BEST friend (nice influence for a 19 year old). Photo of Marina and Ricardo now posted below.
UPDATES2: HOW DID I FIND OUT? Well, the person that gave me the scoop is one of the major posters on these RWD forums. He linked me with a guy (that wishes to remain unknown right now) that translated for Maria & Kim. At first he was like I saw them, I swear to you I saw them, and the next thing this guy Kim called me and sent me photos. He told me how shcoked he was when he saw me & Maria's photos. He said that she was very clear that she was interested in him, and Maria gave this guy (Kim) her phone number and cell phone. He said they never dated again, because he found another Ukraine girl that he liked better. He apologized to me and said not to take it personal, as she never gave any indication to him that she was engaged. As for the mystery person who broke the scoop, it may be for the better that no one knows, because this person is also like a detective for us, and wishes to remain undercover..... More soon.....

Probably you are jumping to conclusions.  I think that Kim is only a long lost cousin.  He started doing some genealogy research and found out he had relatives in Ukraine.  He hopped on plane and showed up at their doorstep.  Your gal just wanted to make him feel wanted and at home.  :-))

 You and I have the same story and the web is a small place. The difference is my ex was seeing an Aussie and by mere coincidence and fluke he posted her pic on the forum I was on after talking about her for some time. I almost had a heart attack because we were together 2 years before she got the ring, I had 4 visits and about 5 months face time total. The K-1 VISA had was actually on it's way!

    At first the Aussie thought I must be joking because my ex told him and me we were the only Americans she ever met. In fact the whole family went along with the scam. then I sent him pics of her and I with her ring. Pics we had at a friend of hers wedding.

 He dumped her and thanked me profusely for saving him from his mistake. I  dumped her and thanked him too. She then realized she was SOL and e-mailed me a few months later begging for another chance. Her mother and sister even called on their dime. The scammers actually fake cried on the phone saying I was the best guy for my ex and she was miserable without me. I was'nt born yesterday. I knew their desperation stemmed from the fact  I already had the VISA and it would take quite a long time to lure another visit from a sucker,get engaged and wait for the K-1 process to go through all over again(which may be questioned the 2nd time around) I said Goodbye and never looked back. Once in awhile I would get a ytext to let me know she loved me,but after seeing the e-mails she had sent the other guy, I knew it was total BS!

Wow...that is totally messed up! Stories like these really make newbies think twice about pursuing women in the FSU.  Just crazy....

At least you found out about her cheating ways before being married.  Don't let this woman put a damper on your goal.  Eventually, you will find the right woman.  We all have to go through bad apples to find that one shining example.  It could have happened in your own backyard, the FSU, anywhere.  Keep on going, you will find that special lady eventually.

It was never a suprise for me , though am not an old member here, I noticed from the start that she was somebody doubtful  and pointed out in the other thread recently. I am sorry you have fallen in love with such a shameless creature , scamming people for emotions and money surely, she is typical scammer , she looks like one even by her pics (people will tell that am judging by the pics and I am jealous that am not that hot as her and that is why telling bad things about her, well I do not need to be that hot to be real and normal) Sorry that you 've wasted your time and you got a scar in your heart right now, but do not be sad , time will cure you , it is a lesson , you should not fall for such kinda young girls find a woman of your age  or at least closer to your age and be happy

she is typical user, or lost young girl , though she does not look like one, she looks like a 30 y.o. party girl who wants guys to fall at her feet give her rings, expensive restaurants, and just cherish her majesty so to say shy angel behaviour , such girls are never shy believe me, but will portray themselves like one.

Try to distract yourself from her , do not try to analyse the situation as you will see how silly you were yourself for seriously believing she was in love with you and was ready to commit to you , you will find that it is wrong to only blame her as she was doing she thought was for her goodness she was putting the traps for you and you , yourself stepped into them and allowed her to use you and to charm you .... you are both to blame if we are talking about this scamming situation.

First of all change yourself and then you will see that another category of girls you will attract you and will be attracted to you ....... and right now you 'd better just think about how to heal your heart and soul

Wow, that was some story. I agree with the other members, that stories like this can really make a newcomer think twice about taking this journey.

I feel sorry for you, for whats happened, but glad also that you found out before you echanged vows.

As soon as you mentioned Kharkov, I immediately thought of Thor and co. Credit to the men in the trenches in this case.

Perhaps stories like these should be added to the 10 Commandments list as example of the reality of international dating. Nobody should have to endure this, and shame on the scammers

I think i said it before on other boards,

Scammers don't stop with the "never met send me money via wester union trick" and of course the pro daters and scammers don't always go for the big prize straight away. Some of them go for the long game and nibble little bites over guys over a long period - often 3-4 years during their "university" where they will get money for books, and classes and other "much needed expenses" - often up to 1000 USD a month from experience of what guys told me in the past, its only when these guys find out down the line they realise they dropped 10-15K a year on her in total. Now imagine she finds 4-5 guys prepared to do that, its easy to keep 4 -5 guys on a rope when they live so far away and shes on for 60-80K USD a years without dropping her pants. Given a good wage in ukraine can be 400 a month a student needing more than that is a huge red flag always.

I mentioned on another red, if you think this may be your case the best thing you can do is arrive in her city with no warning and no planning and ring her up and say i'm in town lets meet, if she is genuine she will be round within the hour thrilled to see you, if shes scamming you then there will be the usual excscuses that shes out of town, broken her leg or anything else and mainly her attitude will be her ANGRY with you for being in town.

If you show up twice like that out of the blue and get nothing but anger and exscuses and she doesnt turn up at all, or turns up ont he last day at the last minute then you are getting played, and if she doesnt show but then is all love and hearts again in her letters as soon as she knows your home you are in this situation.

I have been to Kharkov a lot, and what he is describing has been executed on a number of guys i have sadly met on the plane home over the years - so they aren'r really getting any more refined - i guess the girls learn the tricks from other girls and pass it down the line.

This is the peril of a long courtship, its very tempting if you get engaged and leave her in situ for many months to then feel obligated to provide her some support, my general advice is don't, because if shes genuine she should be able to take care of herself. if she starts using emotional blackmail or manipulate you to get want she wants then you need to walk away.

Shes a clever girl becauses shes let the guys concerned think the money was "Innocent" and that it was "all their idea" to give money, but i suspect if they look much closer, there was the hints, the attitude that she was having a bad day or whatever that led them to give that money.

I feel sorry for all the guys concerned, i have heard this tale quite a lot, my only advice for you is instead of being bitter and trying to recriminate on where you "lost here" look at it like this

1: you've had a very lucky escape, you will live to fight another day.
2: all the girls i know of who execute this type of scam usually end up blacklisted from every agency in town and due to their foreign liasons no local guy will touch them, so they end up broke, bitter and angry and alone
3: however much dollars you dropped on them, is minor league compared to what she could have got if you "sealed the deal" - you got off cheap.
4: and this is a callous statement from a man, so i apologise to all the women of the forum but you simply shouldnt give your woman any financial support until your relationship is serious enough that you are engaging in a sexual relationship or at least a very intimate physical relationship. Most girls like this i know do everything they can to avoid situations like french kissing and sex that may betray their act, of course it does not protect you from hardcore hooker types or women prepared to put up for the cash, but in my experience a lot of this type of fraud is executed by silly young party girls who want a hookers income without her workload and usually have a very poor attitude towards men that they are "their to be used" - they also tend to regard their mark with some disdain so affection is usually very shallow.


Lets be careful out there people, and to the guys concenred, hope you learn from your experience but don't let it scar you. I've met some shocking women in my time and some with a heart of pure gold - thats luck of the draw.

Yeah, the perfect idea. But there's a little problem. Some girls, especially if they are older than 18 may be busy at work. Yes, some girls work, too. And some of them(like me) may have a long distance business-trip, but it doesn't matter, right. I must stop it and immediately come back to my home town to see some american who came to my town for the first time in his life.

FSUrookie may I ask how soon you and Masha had planned to move to the US and get married before this news of "cheating" broke out?  The reason I'm asking, perhaps the girl felt you were not particularly enthusiastic to speed up things and decided (or was pressed) to explore alternative variants.  Some people follow a rule "never put all your eggs in one basket" and perhaps her relationship with Kim did not yet progress beyond the friendly cellphone-chatting stage.  NOT YET cheating, formally. Just a guess - maybe it's too soon to demonize her.

Boom Boom...!!! Right on sister...!! Right on...!!! I do feel terribly sorry for the guy right now, because he is obviously hurting like hell and it ain't for me to beat him up over bad decisions with almost inevitable results. But for the freshmen, you're 40 odd and she's 19, from the east of Ukraine (Scam haven) JHC...guys, there is about a 1% chance of anything else happening. It is all just too sad from too many angles to want to think further about it.

sorry  to say this but I remember you posted something a way back  here and I thought what a not equal  couple as you posted your pic already as your avatar ,  such an age gap is ridiculous it is complitely without brains , I mean how she ever took the ring from you if she knew she is going to live in Germany and has no intentions to be with you in the future. Yes, but that post seems to be very "right to the point" now.

Still, I don't mind the big age gap but that was not that case.

 When you are a single mother of 2 children  and you are 38 this age difference may work, especially if your partner has the same profession/job and you have a lot in common.
But if you are 31 and your gf is 9 or when you are 41 and your gf is 19 this will not work!
I still wonder how they were going to celebrate their wedding in the USA, she isn't allowed to drink alcohol there!Drinking orange juice and telling his relatives how great her school parties were??!

I disagree here. Unless the word 'fiancee' has a different meaning in Russia and Ukraine as it has here, it means that there is a promise to get married to each other. If you can not take this promise serious enough not to meet other guys, than obviously something is wrong. Deceit at least, and depending on what you made the men to 'contribute' scam.

This is not a new scam.  It is a scam only if you were supporting her financially.  Otherwise, it is just deceit. 

Some men have done the same - keeping two or more women on a string until it is time to come to America (in the old days, when a man could have multiple active K-1's in the loop).

19 years old is new!  Can you go to prison for sleeping with a 19-yo?  Yes, most FSUW are more mature than western women of the same age; however, 19 is young.  She may have been 18 or 17 and lied about her age too.

A sad story but nothing new, really.
And she was off course to young and the age gap to big but that can also happen with a small age gap, never forget that...and this is not only the type of  scam that happens in international dating, it can also happens on home turf.

Neo is right about many aspects, some men just begin to offer money for studies, English lessons and all sort of things since the beginning. They also pay their University studies until they graduate and them...they find another guy more attractive for them off course. Well you just have to try to decrease the probability of something like this happen.

FSURookie is now in bad shape, however with time he will think it was the best thing that could happen to him, he was trapped.
