Sonar ~ You quoted a post of mine above, and it is, in my opinion, true. But that is irrelevant to your case. You had taken three years building a relationship that you then threw away in less than a week, a week after she arrived in the USA. Now, if you think that there is any kind of balence between the three years previously and your panicked ending of the relationship then you are a seriously deluded person. I find it hard t obeleive that you knew a person for three years without uconvering problems and then in just a week you magically gain a huge new insight into this person. It beggars belief, or suggests that you are a bigger fool than you might otherwise appear!

You claim not to have run scared; your actions, as conveyed to us, tell the tale that your spinning tries to deny.

I warrant that you had made little or no real preparation to deal with the arrival of this woman into your life, that you had underestimated greatly the responsibility that you faced and that you chose to ensure the end of the relationship with as much haste as possible. You can not have it all ways, as you are trying to do. (OK you can, but only in your own mind!)

What are you, a psycho analyst or maybe a former circus clown? Maybe a combination of both. You don't know me and I don't know you. OK? But one thing I can say for sure. You would never have the balls to say this kind of crap to me in person. I travel to Russia often, You travel to Russia often. When and where will you be there next? I'd really like to meet you in person, clown.

If I remember correctly Turbo's story is the first 11 or 12 pages.. sorta got off track after that but a couple of good posts around page 16, 17 or so describing the demise of his relationship..

Sonar ~ given the tenor of your posts, I do not think that you would have in mind the kind of meeting that I might and I can think of no positive reason for seeking out your company in the meat world. That said, those here who know me, and there are several, would know that what I have written here, I would tell you in person. There is no reason that I should not say as I would write.

No, I am not a psycho analyst, but neither am I stupid person and I do learn a lot. There is much that you tell us in your words of which you might be unaware. Neither am I a clown, but the clown usually makes us laugh (or cry) through his understanding of the human condition and his ability to communicate his insights. Thus, I take your intended insults as compliments!

That is fine Andrewfin.  I don't think a few posts one way or the other matter, I was just trying to get everyone where they belonged. 

Sonar probably would not go out of his way to buy you a beer either but anyone who reads your posts knows you are a very intelligent person and everyone has a right to say what they feel.  I may not agree with everything you say and do but I would fight for your right to say them.

Actually if I ever was in Moscow and had a evening when I wasn't chasing my dreams I could think of nothing i would enjoy more then take you and you husband or any of the Anti-date gals out to dinner.

My family has been together now coming up to two years stateside.  We are very happy, and we all work well together and love each other.

And I would not be comfortable with saying it's been successful yet...

From  what you say, weren't you successful in 2005, in terms of your  family/romantic life? Sure, next year may be better (or worse), but the  happiness you have already experienced is something,...something  valuable, isn't it? I don't see the value in trying to clearly define  'success'. Ahhh,, sweet success~!

After knowing this woman for a lot of years, finally getting serious  about her, doing an almost three year courtship, and now married for 4+  years to a woman who's held her GC going on her second year now, (we'll  be filing the N-400 soon), I wonder if I'm a success yet.  I  honestly don't know because I still have to work as hard now to keep my  marriage on track as I did back when she first got to the USA.   Incidently, I think she works harder at it than I do.

Believe me, I've washed my share of dishes and baked my share of  cookies and I don't think it ever stops.  When you think you can  hang up your spurs and quit working at your marriage, that's when it's  going to turn to do-do before your very eyes.

 As the old proverb says, "Be careful of what you wish for, you  might get it".  Russian women are not for everyone, and they are  certainly not, as someone so aptly said, "for entry level  dating".  I wish everyone happiness and success in the New Year,  but be very sure to look before you leap into new relationships.   (And TG, that goes double for you).

Thanks jb,  Congratualtions.  That was a nice post.  I assure you I am doing a lot of looking before I leap,  Maybe not the kind you are talking about but that comes next.

I have been at this a long time.  I think I have learned enough to know how nieve I was when I started.  That is a good step.   I don't think I was that nieve the last time. I just tried to make something be there that was not there.   I think I learned that lesson too.   I am not sure what the next lesson is.  Hopefully it is not "be careful what you wish for, you might get it"
