Introducing Nurse mike
« on: April 06, 2008, 09:45:28 AM »
Hello everyone, I am committed to finding a woman from the FSU. I been reading, researching, and studying articles, forums, and anything I can get my eyes on for 3 years. I'm using elenas models, and have a few lady's that I am talking with. I am not quit out of debt yet from my divorce 4 years ago. This December I will be out from under 17,000 $ in cc bills. I plan on making my trip to Ukraine summer 2009.

Since I'm from a fairly small city Topeka Kansas pop. 150,000. I have been searching for small city girls that would acclimate better to a slower life style. I also would like my lady to speak some English. I will be learning Russian (rosetta stone) when I get my 600.00$ govt. handout. in May. I'm 53 and not in good shape. When spring finally gets here I will start going to the gym everyday, and riding my bike to work.

In the summer of 2009 I should be in better shape, have enough money saved, and have at least one or two ladies who would like to meet me. I'm not in a hurry to bring back the first lady I meet. At the very least I will get a good and needed vacation, and gain experience in traveling abroad.

So now you know a little about me. I await your comments. Nursemike

Sounds like you are the man with a plan that makes sense and I wish you well and welcome aboard.  I am sure you'll find RWD to be your best resource as you continue with your plan. Good luck.

Hi Mike

Welcome onboard. Topeka is not that small. My town is only about 40,000 but I live very near to NYC. Question, do the ladies you are speaking with now know you are at least a year away from your first visit? I assume ( I hope) they are older and are willing to wait this long?

if you plan your trip in summer 2009, start to use EM or any other site only 4 months before . Before, you will waste your time and miss some opportunities with women who are not interested by correspondences but by one meeting.

I will recommend you to use several sites... not only EM. you can try bride.ru, luckylovers.net . They are not agencies and you will contact women directly.

Mike,

Welcome!  You give a very candid introduction.  Thanks!

If you are delaying your trip because of money, it is understandable.  No one should attempt this without money, and you will find in the archives and FAQ info on the money needed.

If you are delaying for a year to lose weight, then you should go soon and do your best, dependent upon the woman you hope to match with.  Please tell us more about the woman of your dreams (not your fantasies).

There have been a few people who have married and did not first meet until after a year-long correspondence.  The Russian woman posting as Blues Fairy is one, now married and residing in America.

Almost all women, however, will grow impatient.  Be upfront and honest with them if you write now and can not go until 2009.

Women who are so in a hurry to marry they'll decline even a perfect match because of the lengthy correspondence, are generally not even worth writing to - now or later.  Starting to write sooner than later is a good way to filter out such hasty women and focus on those who can a) write really well and b) wait for their true love.  After all, what opportunities will you miss by writing that you will not miss by NOT writing?   ;)

Welcome to the forum Mike,

The only recommendation is to step up the personal improvement plan
If you start exercising now, it will become a habit and you feel better sooner.
Likewise if you start learning some Russian now you will know more by the time
you get on a plane.

Look for Rosetta Stone on ebay and such places I am positive you can get it for less than
$600. Somewhere I remember Turbo might want to part with some of his Russian language CDs. You might send him a PM.

Udachi!! Good luck

I know that I found my copy on ebay for much less than that, although I think that he was referring to the amount of the refund not the price that he was going to pay. Amazon is another good source to search for a copy.

Actually I may put some of my Russian Learning stuff on Ebay this week.  If you want to start on the cheap and have a cassette player if I can find it I would probably send you a partial set of "Russian Fast and Easy" which was quite a good learning tool and/or Barron's Learning Russian which was supposed to be the official learning tool of the state Dept for not much more than the cost of shipping.  I might also be talked into throwing in a partial set of the intro to Pimsleur on Cd's.  (probably have the compete into set but at least one of the cd's is pretty scratched)

By the way my metropolis is all of 8500 people and VWRW is quite happy here.

Do you have reasons to believe that FSUW would find them objectionable, or is it your own personal taste ::)?

Oh Sandro! How did I know that this question would come up?  :o I hope I haven't hit a nerve  ???
Frankly neither myself, nor my RW, see anything wrong with a Tasteful Gold Chain on a man. However, this isn't the 70s, disco is long dead and so are Gold Medallions! She describes this look, including the open shirt, as coming straight from the Russian Mafia's 'How to Dress Guidebook'. (rev #9) Take it from her, she lives there :)
Before my last trip I bought a beautiful black Italian leather jacket. She was not impressed when she saw it, neither were her friends. I won't be bringing it with me when I visit her Friday!
Perhaps this look still works in the Mediterranean/Aegean countries..... not so much in Russia ;)
I wasn't trying to be offensive, simply advising :)

During my last trip to Brighton Beach I was amused to see how many young men wore big rings and necklaces, reminded me of the character Alex in Everything is Illuminated :)

Utrobina,

The important point is to not judge personal decisions.  You made your comment in the theme of trying to help, to enhance Mike's already handsome looks.

If you were to ask my opinion, I agree with you - no gold.  But then I abhor tattoos - all they say to me is "tattoo."  Call me a conservative patriarch - I still have some English dress shoes with wing tips and some people would say get rid of them.  Can not do - too comfortable, too expensive, too many memories, and always important when I meet my banker.

But maybe Mike's gold medal is a former Pulitzer Prize?

Should be required viewing for anyone going to the FSU.

My son watched it with me and half the time had no idea why I was chuckling.

Yes, but Mike isn't 21. Perhaps he does like Hip Hop though........ come to think of it, so does Svetlana  :o

I concur Gator :) I agree and I mentioned that Mike isn't a bad looking guy. He has a Great Smile and that will open the doors  :D

No offense taken at all, I was simply wondering about the reasons for your suggestion, since the only FSUW I showed MY medallion to was rather appreciative, probably for historical reasons.

Anyway, you've explained yourself and provided corroborating support from your RW. Would she consider me a Mafia type, too, given my nationality ;D?

I concur, yet I don't think this is what Blues Fairy implied.  She can speak for herself and does.

It would take a special woman to wait patiently for a year, probably less than 5% and only if no one else actually made the trip in the meantime.

I never said one should wall in love on words.  What I meant was, by writing earlier than later, he really has nothing to lose.  Say, there is an ideal match for him out there and she also prefers actions to words.  If he writes now and tells her he'll come in 2009, and she rejects him based on just that, is she really his ideal match?  On the other hand, if he doesn't write, she'll find someone else and he'll lose her anyway.  But if she complies and continues to correspond with him, it may well turn into a great relationship.  Do you see the logic?

I see the logic perfectly : he has nothing to loose at the end. But this is without taking in account the human nature and all weaknesses related to it, the first weakness is well known: more time you write to someone without meeting her, more time you will build an image of this person, by projecting your own wishes and desires. And when reality comes, if there is a fall, it is more painful...

Long-known problem, our Dante Alighieri wrote (circa 1300) in his Divine Comedy:

perch'ei sa quanto in femmina foco d'amor dura,
se l'occhio o'l tatto spesso non l'accende.

(because he knows how long the fire of love lasts in a woman,
if not often stoked by eye or touch.)  ;)
