Yes, it is easy enough to remarry, but will you marry a hot husband? Maybe if you are 22, no children, and extremely attractive. However, it seems to me that most of the women that the men marry tend to be in their late twenties or early twenties. Often with children. Will the hot, young men be beating down their doors with engagement rings once the newly freed RW leave their "old farts"? I have my doubts.

I would speculate that these hot young men will readily sleep with these RW, but it will be much more difficult to get them to walk down the altar. A number of factors come into play. The first is availability of women for these hot young men. If they live in a city where they can meet a lot of women and they have a lot of options of dating, why would they settle down? Presumably, the hot young men flirting with the still married RW are not that desperate to get married as they would already have married. Also, how does that expression go: "if you can get the milk for free, why should you buy the cow." It is easy enough to for a man to have sex with you few times, but convincing him to propose to you is another matter.

Flirting and proposing are different things. There are a number of factors that would discourage the hot young man from marrying the newly free RW. The first is income: will she be working and will she contribute to the family budget? The "Old Fart" may not have worried about this, but the hot young man likely will. Children: will the hot young man be as willing  to assume the role of "daddy"? If you are a hot young man, marrying a woman with children means that she will have to spend evenings and weekends at home because of the kids instead of going out. Stereotypes and cultural differences: how patient will he be? All told, the newly divorced RW in her new country trying to get remarried will likely face the same problems as the newly divorced RW in Russia.

Does this mean that she can't get remarried? No, but it does mean in my opinion that it will be as simple as she thinks when she is married to the "old fart" and hot young men are flirting with her. She will be facing a lot of competition from AW for the same hot young studs and unlike the "old farts" they married, they won't necessarily have a strong desire to marry a RW, and they likely won't have a strong desire to marry at all.

Well, I would be interested to learn about Ms. Ash's experience as to how "easy" it was to find a husband.

This is what will likely happen. Young RW gets divorced and calls all the young studs who were flirting with her. Quickly she discovers:

1. Most already have girlfriends. It is easy to flirt with a married woman as you know she is taken and won't expect a relationship;
2. Many will have sex with her, but won't be in a rush to marry her;
3. Many will balk at the fact that she will be totally dependent on her. Yes, Ms. Ash may do well as others, but the woman who has limited English won't get a cushy job.

This is what I observed.

One woman I knew, who was extremely attractive, left her old husband and moved in with a hot young stud. Within a week, she was working at Burger King flipping burgers. Yes, she got her hot young stud, but it did come at a price. He couldn't afford to feed her and her son on his salary

  All many of these women have to do is put their pictures on Match.com or any of the other dating websites. A lot of these men are marriage minded. Many under 40. Believe me these guys are eager to meet beautiful exotic women as many American women on the dating sites are a bit past their prime, have baggage or are overweight.

   Anyways, any woman who is solely looking for hot young stud is in for a rude awakening. Just like any guy only looking for hot young girl. But is she's realistic about what type of guy she cab get the catches are pretty good.

Sorry but if you think a beautiful, intelligent and worldly woman would have difficulty in finding a man, you're nuts.  And if you think a woman like that could only attract young losers, you are again nuts.  I never lose sight of the fact that my wife could be with any kind of man of her choosing: young, old, rich or handsom.  It is only the love that won her heart with me.  I am quite certain she would not be flipping burgers to survive.

Beeng not a native speaker and speaking with an accent wasn't a problem on the way to a high income job. Once you there - there are professional young available men.  :DThey do not mind having serious relationship with women who are their peers. Before I met my wife I dated plenty of RW living in the US, most having arrived on K1s and who years later left their husbands.

Although I used Russian dating sites, I was still surprised at the number of women who had no interest in American men; they wanted to date RM living here, exclusively, especially those women who married American men and then saw things go belly up. Most times I could charm my way into a date by virtue of having spent a fair amount of time in her former country, knowing a smattering of Russian language, etc. With a level playing field (i.e., her not being desperate to escape) I suspect a lot of guys chasing young girls around the FSU, confident in their believe that they're a good catch because they believe the marriage agency crap about alcoholic, wife-beating Russian men, would be in for a rude awakening.

Mash, I think you are mostly preaching to the choir here. Most guys who are in solid marriages to RW or who've dated extensively know that there is no shortage of pretty young girls willing to marry old farts simply for a green card. This is not "shocking" to anyone here.

I am just relating my personal experience. Young beautiful woman dumps her "old fart" for a hot young stud. She then has to go work to help support her new family (i.e. husband, son and herself). Last time I saw her, she was taking some courses at a local college to try and improve her job skills and find a job that paid better than minimum wage. Why didn't she become a stripper? Don't know, didn't care to ask the last time I bumped into her LOL.

What I am trying to say is this: all the hot young studs flirting with you when you are married, won't automatically become marriage material when you leave your old fart. As the old cliché goes, you should not be counting your chickens before the eggs hatch and to mix metaphors, the grass is often greener on the other side of the fence.

My wife, before we divorced, was having a fling with a much younger man before we divorced. Do you think he proposed once we separated? God, no. He moved on in search of somebody younger. My wife overestimated herself. Again, each case is different, but it is not a given that all Russian women will easily find a husband after they divorce.

   Ken, did you read what I wrote???? I'm saying even IF she was uneducated. Obvioulsy you're wife's friends are educated. But IF a woman is beautiful and uneducated(which does happen in the "real world") there are ways for her to make lots of money if she's inclined to do that,survive and invest on her own .

In my opinion, most educated and intelligent women won't marry the first "old fart" they find simply to get a green card. My wife had the option of marrying a man from Germany that she met when visiting family. She did not marry him as she did not love or respect him. She was smart enough to wait for a man that she loved. As such, I have no worries that she leave me for someone else if I remain a decent husband.
