Far some reason Doll describes her husband as this educated high-class man, with high paying job, who would never eat fast food…..

And what ? (he eats fast food sometimes)
What does it have to do with the discussion? BTW I also told the story how he was dressed on out first date. No better than John (they are both Johns  :D :D )

In the video the man not only has an Irish brogue but says he's Irish.  Watch it again when they're in the English pub in Moscow.  Why are you so hard-headed on something that's so obvious.  And no, he has not lived in the United States 35 years.
Do you all live in America or what? What come to baclground all the Americans can say they are German or Irish or British, you name it. This guy is a born American with Irish blood. He was born here, I am expecting my $10's :D :D
Ed, I 'll share. Tell them  :D :D

In this case I would not say that my husband is my luck. He is my choice that is based on my preferences.
Very happy about you;
But agree-you choose the best from that what was available for you;
So for some girls this John is the best of what is available

We need another RW to set Americans straight about what we only THINK we know.  It's like Deja vu all over again :rolleyes2:
Perhaps Doll can tell us where in America one can acquire an Irish brogue.

Well Ronnie, come out and visit my bowling league on Monday nights and this guy will look like he should be on the cover of Gentleman's quarterly in contrast, even without any changes.

Personally I would respect the guy a lot less if he did as KenC and some others suggested.  My take on him is that is the way he is.  If he dressed himself in spiffy clothes just to impress a woman and then reverted back to his comfortable self once he got her home to me that would be very deceitful.   Hey, this is him gals, like him or find someone else.   To me that is being honest.

As far as the comments about the gals not liking him.  I am sure being on camera might make them more reserved.  OK, if the gals didn't like him what is the fact the one went to bed with him saying about RW?

To me he seems just fine.  I would think most women would find him cute, he has a nice personality.  Some have guessed he was not successful.  Eduard is not cheap.  Lower income guys are not going to be able to afford his services.  I don't see him as being fat but I do see him as being very flabby.   I agree he should exercise more but not to impress a woman, for his own good health.  My guess is he is reasonably successful at whatever he does.  Yes, there are women who want a very classy guy.  There are men who want a very classy woman.  I doubt it is his priority and I think he is not going to appeal to a woman who will not settle for anyone but a guy with great class.

Some have commented that Eduard should have picked a top notch guy to represent the typical American.  I am sure if some Brad Pitt clone was filmed finding a beautiful RW it would not have been very representative of the true AM-RW scene and would do nothing to convince an average American to give it a go.  I think he picked an ideal person for this but I will agree, the swearing and gum chewing do not add to his image.   Perhaps it is more with that culture.  I have one friend who is English living in America who swears far worse and one other person from England I know swears worse than anyone I ever met.

Doll, if this guy was here for 35 years and you are saying he was born here that means he's 35? No way!!! How do you let yourself go like that at 35? I hear men complaining about how AW let themselves go after 30. But at least most of the time it's because they had kids. Still no excuse but I still think it's a shame we now accept this guy as the norm..

For all who are saying AM dress that way and that's normal, it's true. But AM going on first dates usually make efforts to look better. AW walk around in Velour warm-up suits all the time. Does that mean I should accept that on a date?

As for the cursing, I don't know anyone I hang out with who uses this sort of language either. Yes, people do curse once in awhile when something bad happens. But to pepper your language with F this and F that is just low.

If we begin to make excuses here for bad behavior by adults, then we may as well accept kids speaking Ebonics, cursing, dressing like thugs or whatever. After all it has nothing to do with who they are and if we judge them by that we are bad people who should not judge the interior. But first impressions say alot.

Bog Moi, Doll !! Are you trying to tell a man from Ireland ( BIG clue..me )that "John" hasn't got an Irish accent  :cluebat: :

I *do* hope you didn't "dream of skinning that bear" ...John is an "Oirishman" ... he might have a US passport, but he Oirish..  When Eduard says, "here we are in an Irish pub", he is corrected by "John".."an Irishman sitting in an English pub drinking Czech beer" ) ...How he says "Gorky Park" and "Fun, Fun" is a big clue..  unless you are tone deaf, unwilling to listen to someone who is from the same country and you are determined to lose money   :wallbash:

Let's make it a 1000, 10, 000 , 1 million  dollars ...

Hey

In this guys defense, I would not like a camera following me around all day, and then someone decides what parts of what they have filmed they will share with others.  I do believe any of us could be made to look bad or good, whatever the case may be (and I believe someone may have pointed this out earlier).  Now perhaps it is a fair representation, and he is exactly as he appears, then again maybe not.  I guess this is why I am somewhat hesitant to share that much with someone else.

I guess then another point in his defense would be, he is self assured enough to let himself be filmed and put out there for everyone to take a look at.  As I said, I am not sure I could do that.

So Doll, would that not make him 35 if he was here for 35 years and born here?

As for people saying he's an acceptable guy "compared",strong  to the other AM that show up in Russia, I have one question. Being that RW are some of the most intelligent, beautiful women on this planet. Why is "acceptable" and "average" the best they can expect? As though they don't deserve effort. Yet these women place so much effort to be cultured, educated, well dressed and usually always try to put their best foot foward.

Doll,
As a native Russian speaker, can you you tell between someone from Odessa and someone from Moscow?

I'm not even an native and I can.  I can also tell a Florentine from a Roman from Bolognese.   It's not rocket science!   It's made all the more easy when they TELL YOU WHERE THEY'RE FROM!

Turboguy, I'm not sure what you were saying about your bowling league.  Is it an Irish one?  Do they call it "ten pins?" "Skittles" maybe?  jk

Oh Bog.. OMG "don't skin the bear before you've caught it"..in otherwords don't plan to spend money you'll never see or touch... this is a perfect example of why communication between a FSU lady and an English speaking man can be "challenging"..  :-[

Doll, stick to the bet.. and admit it... you're simply wrong...

Here's another idiom: "Quit when behind", or "when in a hole, stop digging" ...

$$$$$$$$$$$ :D

What I find most interesting here is that we have two fine RW (Doll & Zhena) defending this guy's presentation of himself.  Many of us Americans are much more critical of him. Maybe the agency hype is correct?  RW do look past some physical or superficial shortcomings of men before they pass judgement!?
KenC

KenC: Good question and one I have been considering throughout this thread. Agency hype? Yes it works and it works for one simple reason, there is an element of truth in it (Maybe a small element, but it is there). As with any BS, it gets through to an extent because there is an element of believability in it.

On the positive side, one thing which has appeared to me here is how the RW have viewed this when drilled down upon and BTW Mrs I/O was much the same when I said, what do you think of this guy? Her first reaction, "hmmmmmmmmm maybe he is an OK man but how can I really know without talking to him?" "OMG, who told this poor guy to only give one flower, that is crazy, he looks stupid, what is the problem with his guide? Why did he not tell him about this? He would be better to give no flowers than to give one flower which is not a rose." (The head shaking started then) The last video...her reaction....."Why does he need to be drunk on film? (He obviously was) this camera operator is stupid".

What did I get out of all that? What I got was NOT that RW (mine as the example here) will consider any man no matter how good or bad he might be, but what I got was, there is much more to RW when they get to looking seriously at a guy than to take a passing glance at a man and then pull him to pieces without giving it at least some serious thought before doing so. Isn't that one of the big things which so many of us have been impressed by? Are RW different? (Are you reading Doll) Betcha life they are different and the above is one of those differences. (Not saying ALL, just saying..............)

I will admit I am wrong if Ed say his client was born in Ireland, come to the US at some age and thus he has this accent. This will make John a foreigner.
Other wise he is a born American (of whatever origin)

Yes, perhaps it is more than the way you talk, or the way you dress.  After all a Russian woman or any woman can work on those things.  Perhaps it is more, are you trustworthy, do you do what you say you will do.  Will you be there if the sht hits the fan.

Besides, who knows what a woman finds cute or handsome.  ;D
