This was true maybe 10 years ago, when the average age of first marriage for women in Ukriane was 21 (for men it was 24), but you got the order wrong.  Quite often it was pregnant first, then marriage.  Things seem to be quite different now, at least outside the villages.  They are waiting longer to get married and the average age of first marriage is more closely resembling that of the West.  I really didn't see any general anxiety to get married among the young women when I was there, in fact, quite the opposite.

I just did some google searching and could not find any data to support or refute your comments.  I will acknowledge I made the mistake of basing my original comment on propoganda I gleaned over time from agency sites, so, the veracity and accuracy of my comment may be highly suspect.  I apologize for my assumptions.  I did find some links that some may find useful or interesting.

Mishenka, I feel quite sure that Bride.ru is not a scam agency.  Do they have some women on their site who are scam? Of course so. I think all agencies will have some scam women but that does not make the site a scam agency.

   I also want to mention there have been several ads recently on different CraigsList sections promoting foreign women as easy sex conquests and have had links to different AFA sites for their tours.

IIRC, there's no way to retrieve direct contact info from AFA.  If the ladies will give it to you, AFA does not prevent you from asking for it.  But you can't even get a direct e-mail address through AFA, they claim it is forbidden by IMBRA (sorry if I got the acronym wrong).  They only provide a special e-mail address through their own server, which gets forwarded to the lady.  Again, the lady can provide an alternative e-mail for you if she wishes.  That was another big warning sign when I was on AFA.  Not only did it seem like there were way too many women 18-20 who wanted to meet men up to age 45, but the best looking women inevitably had no e-mail address available (not even an AFA one), which meant your only option was to pay AFA to forward a message to them.

Even though there are a lot of scammers on bride.ru, and even though they have a horrible search engine and many outdated profiles; I have to give them credit that they immediately provide the phone number, e-mail address, and in most cases mail addresses, or all their women once you click on their name.

You sure it was bride.ru?  Bride.ru doesn't have any system of credits for opening messages.  They never did when I was using them, and that was at the first of this year.  If they do now, it's something new.

Jack.. if I see another ad like the one I mentioned I will send it to you.  I don't look at CraigsList as much as I used to though because it has been taken over by some USA based scam dating site and 95% of the ads on there just end up a link to dating and porno sites.  But, I will keep my eyes out for it if I happen to be surfing there.

Ah, I see.  Yeah, that is something totally different that I saw.  It's some sort of software that actually installs on to your computer or something.  I don't know anything about that and it certainly does look hokey.  When I was on there, I simply signed up for the platinum plan for x number of months which was $x for that period of time (I can't remember all the details).  During that period of time, I could retrieve the phone number, postal address, and e-mail address, of any woman I wanted to.  Perhaps they don't even offer that option anymore.

So after asking her for some other contact information she replied by saying it was to soon to give out personal info like that after such few messages. Makes sense because I wouldn't want to give my phone number or address out that fast to just some random person. Its just annoying because at like 10 dollars to send/receive messages its a horrible way to get to know someone especially if she turns out to be a scammer. What do you guys think? How many letters exchanged is a good amount for phone numbers and addresses to be shared? Since you have indicated below you two have a lot in common, their could be some R/Ukr ladies who might want you to write more before her giving you her phone number, but I suspect most sincere R/Ukr ladies seeking a foreign man for a marriage would have no problem with giving her phone number to someone she had a lot in common with.

How many letters exchanged is a good amount for certain agencies, or the serious ladies?


With certain agencies, I think they would like you to write and send  100 letters each way.  If you agree to that I'm sure some agencies will be happy to work with you.

Some agencies, maybe they would like to see 50 letters, before they tell a certain lady they have been writing on her behalf, that they have given your address to a certain man and here is everything they told him about you.

Some agencies will give you direct contact with you simply buying the ladies contact information or becoming a member.
