Back to the topic....Saturday night disco Kyiv.... anyone been to the new Buddah Bar on Kretschatnyk??? Or is Arena Club the best place to burn cash

I went to Buddha bar opening night back in July.  Nice club with many Kiev celebrities / politicians showing up and no foreigners that I saw.  Hookah was very good I remember and very dark like Buddha club in Paris.  Has several floors so you can have some private tables.  Was not expensive I think I paid around $400 usd but I was with 4 people and we drank a lot of cocktails. smoked hookah, and ate a lot.  Was a very upscale crowd but that was probably due to opening night.

I no not like Arena club (except sports bar on 1st floor) unless you want to see all the girls listed in Kiev on Elenas models.  You will find most of them there with their weekly boyfriend.  I used to know the disco manager (Olya) there about 2 years ago before they renovated the club and they would pay girls to show up in the club.  Not sure if still the practice as Olya has moved to Turkey and than Spain to help with Arena's owners on their clubs outside Ukraine.  A decent club does not need to pay women to attend IMO.  Also to many foreigners.  I tend to stay away from popular foreigner spots in Ukraine.

I am also leery of the expat clubs/pubs/bars in Kyiv.  Overpriced, smoky and not really much like home.  However, I have never been one to care about the location as long as I have good people around.  A couple of nights ago, we went with a Canadian couple and our sons to the Golden Gate to enjoy some foreign beers and the company.  Afterwards Sunduk near Volodomyrska for dinner and a few more beers and friendship.  If I was on a date in Kyiv Sunduk would definitely be a better choice than GG. Despite being with my wife and the others, I was still signaled by two of the prostitutes on site.

The few clubs I ever went to in Kyiv had no interest for me - not my scene or style.

The best clubs in Kiev are an hour drive away from city center with no traffic (mostly south).  So not really in Kiev.
