Well, can be very, very dangerous..  not only can the suction pull the skin right off your 'best man'.. your testicles may follow and also have to be retrieved from that dusty bag.

More than a slight inconvenience on a lonely Saturday night.

I was saying this in gest,

Not sure of your meaning.  Given the title of the thread, "gest" could mean gesticulate?  Scott and Dave are saying something in jest

Why the question?  That's exactly the purpose of the whole episode - to stimulate the innervated appendages, both hers and mine. ;D

It is not reliable as explained above by Ranetka.

In multiple cases I have communicated with English proficient women, learned much that made me presume that we were compatible, and then met them.  In almost all cases, there was no "chemistry" upon mixing the two of us together in a beaker.

Chilidog, you are spending an incredible amount of time.  This shows a high degree of commitment to each other.   Great!  Rather than spending 8-9 hours to do this, why not use an interpreter for an hour?  You will learn more, I promise you.

BTW, what are your plans for meeting her in real life?
gator,

yes, understand completely that "chemistry" is different then knowing if you have the same interests or the same goals for life.

have asked on many occassions about using an interpreter. her general reply is a "relationship" is 2 people not 3. That if we are to have a relationship then we must learn to communicate 1 on 1.

We will be meeting at the end of March :)

LOL! Touché! I did not catch that typo, but it made for a good malapropism  Gest is of course a word signifying a deed or a tale and is pronounced identically to jest, so perhaps it is appropriate to speak of the deeds of men, properly stimulated of course

Malapropism.  Good word, showing the wide extent of your vocabulary. In speed reading, I missed the mala- and thought you wrote priapism, which would make an interesting malapropism given the earlier words of "shower" and "blue pill."

Ranetka, I'm not sure about a 18 y.o. car being an antique but maybe just antic  ::)   :D probably because as I have said I know nothing about cars, just a little-little,  but I can understand the sentimental feelings even to antic things  :D I know some people in my city in Russia who have antique cars like "Pobeda" (1950) and other I can not recall its name. But their cars looks like a candy  :rolleyes2: and they are very proudly racing around our city.  :)

We have our own antique car lovers in Russia.

Wikki says
Modern classics

These vehicles are generally older, anywhere from 15-25 years, but are not accepted as classics according to the Antique Automobile Club of America. (that's about the UK)

Antique Automobile Club of America
The Antique Automobile Club of America defines an antique car as 25 years old or older.

So ours was a modern calssic.

I do resent the fact that most people never question or think for themselves. I don't want to be normal. I just want to find some other people that are odd in the same ways that I am. OP.

Ranetka, thank you for information. Please tell me the name of the car you were talking about, I really would like to look at the car's design.

Now I hope you can appreciate my feelings :-)

Basically, as I understand now it is quite rare, reliable powerful (classic) sport car.

This car is never going to be very expensive, it is a poor people Mercedes. :-) However there are plenty of enthusiasts, see in our socialist state we have old cars lovers off all incomes. I have never driven it but my hudband was always saying it is the most comfortable car to drive and he test drove in his life a few including Rolls Roys.

I remember the Celicas quite well. There were a few year models that aesthetically pleasing to the eye but I don't remember any that would have qualified as a sports car. Really couldn't even be considered poor man's Mercedes. There was nothing about it even remotely close.

I had a 1983 Celica long, long ago. It was the most godawful collection of sharp angles and odd styling but it was extraordinarily reliable. There are still some on the road today.

FP, I believe at the beginning of its lifecycle in the early 80s, the Supra was called a "Celica Supra," and was most definitely a sports car. There was also a sporty version of the vanilla Celica called the Celica GT. It shared the same weak but bulletproof engine as its brethren but handled well due to extremely wide tires (wide for that era).

How come I can remember all this useless crap yet I'd have to pause and contemplate for a few mins. to remember what I had for lunch today?  :P

Wait, my mistake :) The GTS was the "sporty" model, the GT was middle of the road, and the ST was a barebones model with no a/c and manual steering, just what a poor university student like myself could afford at the time  :D

What do you mean there were? Just checked autotrader.co.uk, someone sells 2006 Celica, may be they stopped selling them in US?

Well I tried to get this thread back on topic but it seems I just set up the shift to cars.  So do you think one advantage of having a lady who speaks English is that she can read the owner's manual?

Ranetka, I bow down before your talent!!
