In my opinion there was enough of specificity. Actually too much

At Last...

A conversation worthy to be joined ('Tis a consummation, devoutly to be wished...).  Intrinsic Value, has little to do with, if the item is utilized or not.  Be it a favor owed or a house in the country.  Yes Virginia, the tree still makes noise dropping in the forest, even if you are not there to hear it.

Not having the Psych backstory of earlier commentators, let me only add to Gators' usual, useful comment...  Having my mind changed, to be able to learn what was different and is new, is for me the definition of youth (It is mainly about attitude, yea baby!).

The last women I dated here and the last Russian I was married to, were each half my age, and knockouts.  No, I am not George Hamilton.  Just real good company with a very respectable physical presentation.  When I was younger they were older.  Still like older, if they look/act/are attractive.

Dan, you will not elicit answers from those two because (drum roll, please...)  their beliefs are based on personal (not logical) bias.  Thats OK, fine with me; but ladies (Doll and Oooops [and even Gravely Obtuse Boy]) please quit sanctimoniously, insufferably skewering all here with different opinions and real life stories.  Yes, some may have argued their case, but your comments oft require rebuttal (Where is yours now?).

Also Dan, there may be other more fundamental issues reflecting their personal insecurity for the future, but not from most of the men here.  Where's Nancy?

Plus the 50-yo would know everything better.

Russian joke on this subject.

Georgian, Russian and Jewish men sit at the bar and talk about women.   Georgian guy says - I like them young, 18-19, fresh as an apricot!    Russian guys say - I like them mature, 30-40, they can cook, clean and know how to take care of a man.    Jewish guy says - I like them old, 70-80...   Other two guys - ???    :o :o :o   Jewish guys says - yep, every time they have sex they think it's the last one, so they do such things you won't believe!

I suspect some would challenge your use of the term "ridiculed" - and others would likely challenge your attribution.

In any case - let's contain these questions of your ridicule and/or other attribution to the topic you opened.

Now why can't/don't Doll and Ooooops follow suit? Why the reluctance to share their answers to those questions?

I've tried, it's not my fault that you don't like my answers.   ;)

Some candid disclosures from an old guy in his 60s reading these RW accounts of how dreadful I am.

Dear Gator, I've said right away that there are some lucky exceptions.   I guess you are one of them!    ;)

Dan, I've been on chat forums for too long and know better than to open up too much.   Never know when that information is gonna turn around and bite you on your arse.   ;)

their beliefs are based on personal (not logical) bias.

What bias?    We all will get old sooner or later (that's if we are lucky and don't kick the bucket before that   ;) )

Yeeaahhhhh - BUT . . .

You gotta admit - if the objective is to seek deeper understanding and 'connection' to others (admittedly that may NOT be your objective) - then it follows that some amount of disclosure is essential to achieve it. There is no other way.

I still contend there are effective ways to address sensitive issues such as this one while maintaining privacy and dignity. It merely requires a bit of additional thought as to HOW you post your message.

FWIW

Your are correct.    But I can't be tricked that easily.    ;)

I thought that I've explained myself pretty clear, no?   What other answers you'd like to hear from me?

Well . . . I *think* it started here on page 14 -- http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?topic=9613.msg185535#msg185535.

Doll keeps asserting that "age is very important" - and I keep asking 'Why'?

You keep asserting about "differences" between people of different ages - and I keep asking 'Which differences, exactly'?

Gator was kind enough to offer some of his own observations to 'prime the pump' a bit - and I wonder if any of those things he mentioned are the ones you find putoffish?

We'll start there - maybe - if you want to answer.  8)

Oh, I get it now!   I think there is a misunderstanding - I don't find anything putoffish, I just find them not fitting my lifestyle.   It's like I feel out of place in company of much younger people as well - it might be fun for a while, but then I get tired of them and want to crawl back into my den and relax in the company of my alikes (not sure if it's a real word?   :-\ ).    ;D   But then again - there are exceptions, just like Gator wrote about hiking up gazillion steps or Facetrock wrote about drinking and chatting till cows come home...   8)   I didn't want to offend nobody and sorry if I did incidentally...   :-[

Well, actually my name is Ukranian, Russian version of it is Ksenia.   Which is in turn not even Russian but Greek and supposedly means "stranger, traveler" which fits me pretty well too, with all my bouncing around for the last 20 years.   8)

You did not offend me.  My comment about being dreadful to you and Doll was tongue in cheek.

The important point is that it is obvious you are in a happy, fulfilling marriage with someone who lives life the way you do.  So am I, except I think I probably work harder at it for the obvious reasons.

Keep posting.
