Okay, my wife has been served with divorce in Russia. She will have 20 days to respond. She was served at her boyfriends apartment. My lawyer told me that I am lucky that this is all she took. Will she come back to fight this? I don't think so.

Why, did she not file an I-360 on me? My company does a lot within this community. I sponsor many of the events. I support the Police Department with many donations for bullet proof vests.

Air, if your lawyer says you're getting off light, as some of us speculated you were since you didn't give any other numbers that would put the amount she left with in perspective, the you really haven't got a valid complaint.

I don't know what state you are in, but in a community property state like California, the above statement, while true in an practical sense, is entirely false when it comes to the law.  Under community property law, all income is earned by the couple as a community and the benefits of that income to not accrue to one partner more than the other.

The thinking behind this is that while one party may leave for the office and generate a paycheck, the other supports him/her in effort and allows him/her to be productive and perhaps sacrifices his/her own career opportunites to be in that support role.
