Sure, give the woman some hcg injections and she may be able to. But what about the risks to the child?

The first IVF treatment was almost 40 years ago.  IVF children have gone on to have their own children.

Humans were not meant to give birth later in life.

Yes, and that applies to males as well.  The offspring of males over 45 have far greater risks of various genetic abnormalities.   There is also a much greater risk of autism if there is a ten year or greater age gap between parents, regardless of age.

I was referring risks such as miscarriage, autism, type I diabetes, downs syndrome, cardiomyopathy, chromosomal disorders, and a slew of other potential issues.


Just seems a bit risky and selfish in some situations.


The risks are higher for older women but I also agree there is increased risk for men as well. It goes both ways. Nature does not discriminate.

Miscarriage isn't a big deal.  It is devastating to the pregnant woman, but it's not a health risk in the West.

Most older women have access to a battery of prenatal genetic tests.

The risks are equal for older fathers.  In fact, some argue they are higher, because sperm continually mutates.  Eggs do not.
