I didn't see any advantage to it either. IIRC they would email all the new additions to Platinum members where as the gold members had to wait 30 days. Made it seem like a race.

I never posted a profile on EM. I remember the first thing I did when I got into this madness was actually pay to surf their database and be entitled to write 'x' number of ladies. The least amount of expense as it were then. I wrote a few of the ladies I was interested in and it came to light that these ladies had been on their database for quite some time.

The majority of them did write me back to let me know they're either engaged, involved with someone, or are already married. They were suppose to let the site know but I'm sure things occassionally fall off between the cracks. I would then notify EM and they would in turn give me credit which was nothing more than a trade for another email addy.

3 weeks of that silliness, I decided to pay into a system where they'll just email me 50 'recently joined ladies' IIRC every two weeks. I decided to take that route one time until I've exhausted it, win or lose.

Luckily my wife timed her decision to join EM perfectly.
