Mamba is good for good guys. It's not an international dating site but it's great for getting local dates and I did well with it in America.

Many of my dates have told me similiar numbers to yours when talking about the lack of quality men there. Most men there are RM. Many people stereotype RW as wanting to get green cards or marry for finacial gain. I believe most RW will be open to marrying a Western man because she seeks a better man that what she's experienced at home.

Because there are a lack of quality men on mamba, a good guy should have no problem beating his competition. Some of my dates have told me they wanted to leave mamba too since they have wasted too much time reading what losers have to say. On the other hand, if a woman is a pro dater or looking to make a few bucks, she will have plenty of propositions.

I read the link Ed put up recently. I'm amazed a 35 yo woman got 5500  views in the last month. A lot of men interested in her. Hard to believe she hasn't found a good guy yet out of all the options she has but ome women can be very selective with that many choices.
She is 35 and has a child. Pretty streetwise as well and can easily tell a man where to go and what to do with himself  :P .  Some guys would be put off by that, others, who are just players probably look at the pretty pics but have nothing to say to her what she already hasn't heard a thousand times. Most good guys are taken...she really doesn't have many options, but she may think she does because of all the attention she is getting... plus she puts more limits by her age restrictions and by looking for slavic men only... it's a no win situation almost.

It is a numbers game for both the women and the men. You can't expect to be online for five days and find your Prince Charming among the first five guys that write  >:D

Five guys, are you kidding me? ;) I got tons of mails every day, all from freaks and male-sluts ;) Then I just looked though profiles of my "target group" so to say, and the results were very disappointing. No, I'm not saying that somebody can't just get lucky on mamba and meet somebody proper, but it's almost impossible. I have a lot of female friends who also tried it and also signed out after a week, a month, a year, many of them had had a lot of one-night stands and romances with married men looking for affairs on the side before they stopped wasting their time ;)

Well, if they chose to have one-night stands and affairs on the side, they were clearly not wasting their time  >:D

Nat,

My big question.
Where are you now, on which websites?

People invariably turn to online dating venues when they aren't meeting anybody in real life or at the very least they aren't meeting any contenders in real life

Well, in my case - I couldn't meet anybody proper in real life, went to online dating, was shocked, realized that real life dating is better, returned to in and surprisingly started meeting nice people there  :o :D Who knows, maybe once I'll return to online dating again  :P But not to Mamba, that's for sure.

All the best of luck with the real life dating  :)  Of course, if someone can find plenty of dates in real life, there is less incentive to do the necessary triage online  ;D

Be careful Nat. Those freaks and male-sluts that send you tons of emails everyday exist in real life too. When they approach women in real life, they don't expose themselves as quickly as they do on the internet.

Of course not!  They would get arrested for indecent exposure. ;D

Everything in life goes in cycles. You can go out to a few of your favorite places for a year and not meet any one. Then you stop going for a while, come back and suddenly you see a few new faces and you might just click with one of them. Same on line, on mamba or any other site. There are always new people, new opportunities. Yes, nowdays this process requires a lot of time, effort and plenty of patience.

So I've learned what works and what doesn't as well as the most sensible way of going about the search for your "second half".

And you probably learned that 'what works' tends to change over time.

I didn't think that I wrote anything "bad", just a simple response to your question. Evidently I was mistaken...

It seems you've been a bad boy in quite a few other places.  :-\

As I said above, everything goes in cycles, I guess this is a cycle when Ed is considered to be a bad boy again. I guess I'll stay out of here for a while. You guys have fun!

To set the record straight, Ed has been warned on a number of occasions to not attempt to hock his services outside of the commercial section of the forum. He knows the line and he continues to cross it. He is fully aware of his intentional violations in this thread and others. This is the same rules that other commercial members adhere to. Any future attempts and Ed will stay out of here much longer than he originally thought.

I am so relieved.
