I would say it felt weird. Because it wasn't like a date with a stranger, it was more like you were invited to your relative's or your neighbor's  house. Somehow I feel we are different people from different worlds but at the same time it was what I could call a "very warm online date." Very interesting.

You are just getting into the dating there.  Follow your instincts and it will work out.  Thanks for posting about your experiences.

I'm reading totally opposite here - he takes his son to every date with every woman he just met on Internet.  What if we switch roles here and it would be single mother who'd bring her child with her to dates?   Weired...

And I find weird  feeling weird  I dated single mothers with their kids on first dates. No sense to delay the inevitable encounter. The father and his teen is a different story, though. They are like best friends, no secrets between friends

BTW, on the subject of fake smiles - we are in Tokyo for a week and guess what?  People not only smile, but they also bow to you!   Pinnacle of fakerizm, huh?      I love Japan, been here so many times and loved it every one of them.

I have always said that I like  slender women . . . not thin, not skinny, nor not super skinny.

Slender women can have  curves.  My  Ochka has a near perfect hour glass figure and is slender.

Which reminds me of this:

During Stalin's time, there was once a journalist that called Stalin a jerk, he was promptly arrested and put in jail.
