You might be surprised at what some of the apartments are, both good and bad. Most of the bad ones are tolerable but efficient. There are some exceptions (ie Moscow) but for $50-75 USD a night generally will get a pretty nice apartment with a kitchen and you can cook your own breakfast and supper too. Most of the Hotels are over priced. Most generally for an apartment, you get what you pay for

. . .  what impression are you going to give your FSUW if you're staying in a $300+ hotel room but eat with her at a $20 restaurant?

I agree; $20 is too much.

Check out the McDonalds.  And I won't even take a gal there unless I have coupons for 'buy one, get one' meals.  Or, look at their dollar menu.  Bring your own cup so you can get water from the dispenser.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

Are you sure you are talking to the right person?

"Everybody" is the right person in this instance - it wasn't a dig at you.  Perhaps I should have clarified what I meant, which is that you can get the same, or better, quality in an apartment for half the price of a hotel.  It's also far easier for the lady you're meeting (if you get that far in your relationship) to demonstrate her cooking skills in your apartment than it is in your hotel room, which may have a microwave oven if you're lucky.  There are also plenty of other pluses, such as ten times more space to stretch out, easier access, better security...you can make it much more like home than you ever could in a hotel room.

Even allowing for your edited rider of "in Kiev," don't be so dogmatic - you don't know everything about every apartment.  Of course the big cities are more expensive than others, but the best deal I got was a week in a really nice apartment in Naberezhnye Chelny for 3500 roubles (the equivalent at the time of $US18 a night).

I'm thinking more along the lines of "you really want to risk catching 243 new diseases by drinking the water?"  :o

Breakfast.  (A two course meal.  Typical Ukrainian fare.  This morning it was stuffed peppers. )

Real Bed - It is a large single bed - not a double.

A/C

Room with a view.  I am on the 10th floor overlooking the Bug River with a door that opens on to a balcony.

Cost per night:  232 UAH - at 8.13 per US Dollar comes out to be around $28 bucks.

The place is a graveyard.  Probably only 50 guests staying in perhaps 250 rooms.  This place caters to Ukrainians.  The places next door and on down cater to Westerners.  They have much more business.

I stumbled on it when I was looking for a place that I could keep my dogs with me.    The only problems that I have had here is that one night the power went out and someone got stuck in the elevator (thank God it wasn't me) and one morning, around 6:00 AM, some drunken lady kept banging on my door asking for a light for a cigarette.  I told her to go away without opening the door.

Such is life in Niko.

I am not here to put anyone (even the Dbagz who try and put me down) down.  If you gotta a discount and share it, it benefits me the consumer because it drives down the price as more guys like me demand that price.

I think it is extremely hard to find a find place, with a western double bed for less than $ 48 in Kiev.  I find the people in the FSU marvelous.  I find the creature comforts given the prices they charge (because of the way they structured their market ) a bit of a rip off.  That's all.

No hate bro

Better stock? You mean like they have great teeth and gums, and are much better for breeding?  :D

You've bought hook, line and sinker into the hype/fantasies there guy.

Sorry Faux, you may be a SuperHero Member or whatever on this forum but it seems you just don't read your dictionary too often. Breed doesn't just apply to livestock or animals.

Actually, I am well aware of what it means. And more specifically in the context that you used it. Perhaps you should look up the definition? Look for "breed" "stock" and breeding stock and let me know what you find.  ;D

And what exactly is that you know about my luck with girls I meet locally??
Nothing that's for sure!  So don't come here making any suppositions.
I have decided to look for a wife in the Ukraine because I think
they are the better stock.
I recommend you use your logic a little bit better  . If I'm saying russian women,
is almost the same as if I said FSU women. They're basically the same breed, don't be
so annoying. Or you really think this forum is just for Russian Women Discussion and
Ukranians and other former FSU countries are out of discussion?

Here you go buddy, I go by what my dictionary says not for what some ignorant might
think the definition of a word might be: :

Quote
From Dictionary.com
STOCK
10.
the person from whom a given line of descent is derived; the original progenitor.
11.
a line of descent; a tribe, race, or ethnic group.

BREED
14.
lineage; stock; strain: She comes from a fine breed of people.

Sentences from spanishdict.com
stock [stɒk]
noun
8(descent)
people of Mediterranean stock gentes  (f) de ascendencia mediterránea
to be of peasant stock ser de ascendencia campesina
to be or come of good stock ser de buena cepa

Both stock and breed can be used for human beings.

And you know what? go TROLL someone else's post!

I've already been scammed before by an agency, long story short? It was by Anastasia Rape who denied getting my fiancee(if she even really existed in the first place) on the phone. I tried contacting her like 3 or more times but "they couldn't reach her". I called in to complain but they did nothing in order to set things straight. The lady also told me she had sent me a post card, which NEVER came, so obviously something was very fishy!  Now I'll be very cautious since not everything is as it seems.

F3r!
