A little offtopic-the skin problems at that age are not because of the liver. It has a hormonal cause. Skin is my profession.
A health level in this age shouldnt have the serious problems though. If it has-its because of ecology in Tomsk and because of siberian unhealthy lifestyle. Most of siberians drink, and something more serious than a beer.

Interesting comment.. "A" also believes her skin issues are related to hormones.. she said when she doesn't get sex her skin gets bad.. her skin improved both times I was with her.. ;)

As your evening of drinking progresses, does her happy mood decline?

no

Here are some mental signs of alcoholism:

Unable to control drinking: “just one drink” rapidly leads to more
Drinking leads to dangerous situations like driving drunk, walking in an unsafe area
Increased irritability, agitation and anger, lowered threshold for violence
Avoiding activities that do not involve the opportunity to drink
Excessive weeping and emotional displays
Unexplained absences and sick days from work, or difficulty making commitments
Oversleeping or difficulty sleeping

Review your history with her and ask yourself if any of the above apply. Considering her young age, just a hint of this behavior would alarm me.

None of those are applicable with the exception of a limited amount of oversleeping.  If she had nothing specific to do that day she did tend to sleep late, but, if there were plans she was up on time and rather focused on getting ready.

My God!  She has a liver problem at her young age!!!!   And what does long-term alcohol use do to the liver?  It inflames the liver, leading to cirrhosis.  Cirrhosis is irreversible.  It killed my alcoholic uncle.

Sculpto, if you love "A", you should not encourage her to drink.  Spending time with you, especially after a long separation, should make her happy.  Limit her to a moderate amount of alcohol to celebrate (1-2 beers).  If she becomes angry about you not allowing more alcohol, that is a bad sign.

I am not sure a pothead is the best person for "A."   Then again, you would not be attracted to a normal woman - way too boring.  Instead of dating an Armenian, how about finding a Gypsy woman?!  They are a very interesting subculture with a long history.  If you get more involved in drugs in Russia, you will meet some Gypsies.

I am not sure exactly what her liver problems are.  She just said there was an issue and was taking some medication for it.  With the exception of the night we got drunk she did not drink more than one or two beers or cocktails.

LOL @ Gypsy women.. I don't think they are so interested in marriage with non gypsys.  Besides, I wouldn't really define myself as a pot head.. like I said.. a small amount for medicinal reasons and occasionally socially.  Don't forget I have a very responsible job that requires a lot of detail and verification.. not somethign pot is going to help with..

As to your recollection of everybody smoking grass in public, first of all I do not believe it - remember, my younger son is still running around with his hippie crowd (mostly in StP and Moscow, but these communities are fluid, and visitors and visit from all over the FSU and Eastern Europe are common), and he and his friens were laughing like crazy, when I've related to them what you've said.

I know what I saw and smelled.  I was surprised, but not so much.  That whole area around that metro has the vibe.

You know what you know.. I am telling you not everything you know is what is really going on.

Kiev is the biggest city in Ukraine.  And big city attractive young girls in Kiev party very hard.  For all the guys visiting Kiev - how many marry a girl under 25 years old and stay married 5-10 years.  Go to Kharkov for marriage go to Kiev for a party girl.  Someday I would like to meet a foreign man who married an attractive girl under 25 years of age in Kiev and is married at least 5 years.

In Donetsk 4 years ago I saw a bunch of youngsters outside the Chicago nightclub dealing with a girl who was having a bad E trip.  I know what that looks like and that was what was going on.  It was a weeknight and the club wasn't very busy.. I can imagine that is a tiny tip of the iceberg...

I do think this is a relelvant topic.. but I think we should move on.

Is she planning to have kids with you in 5 years from now?

Not exactly(Ill answer in english,so everybody can understand).
The teenager acne, appers when the gender hormones start to work. The hormon testosteron targets the sebum glands so they produce more sebum. The sebum collects in the glands, and the germs like the sebum. Thats how we get an inflammation-and acne. There are the other hormones -steroids-which influens on the sebum glands. There also can be a normal level of testosterone but the increased sensitivity of the glands to this hormon.
The diet can correct the condition a little, but not so much. What the sugar does-the germs love the sugar,so they grow faster. The spicy food also increases the production of the sebum.Etc. So does the alcohol.

I was born in Siberia and have been living in Siberia, Kuzbass  ;) . As I traveled around Russia and also visited former republics I can tell that people in Siberia drink not less and not more than in any other places.  :)

if you are a doctor - you cannot say without seeing the girl that this are hormones, and nothing else. Also - you don't know her genetic predisposition etc. While her doctor said she does have problems with liver.
Alcohol does have bad effect on liver. That's also what polluted environment ('ecology') does - bad effect on liver and other "cleaning" organs in the body.

She may have the problems with the liver, but that not what causes the acne,100%. And genetic predisposition-its how her hormonal system functionates. You can ask me alot about the acne, its my favourite :) But I guess not in this topic...

You can't diagnose skin conditions without examination and, sometimes, pathology. Assuming we are talking about acne, some of them require treatment with multiple antibiotics while others will need cortisone/steroid compound applications for years in an attempt to reduce the disfiguring effects.

There is no one answer as to cause.
