I've notice that Russian jokes are usually short, blunt and straight to the point, versus English ones go on forever till they reach the punch line.

Confession:

My ex girlfriend of 5 years would throw out "you're always on that D&MM computer" when we would have a tiff. (she was on the computer much more than I was but that didn't figure in her logic)

It was a flash back that brought a flood of memories.. All bad.

I wrote back that I was saving the floor for her and she wrote back that she suspected that I was saving some work for her but that she was coming here to "goof off" so I better get the floor done.
We both got a good laugh out of it and I feel it helped establish a bond between us.
Our last conversation (she leaves today!!!) was a little banter back and forth very similar to that about cooking.

I'm so excited I can hardly sit and feel like a teenager.

I would not get concerned too much - it's a typical joke. A bit rude yes, - you can expect same attitude once (IF) you are married to this woman. But meet her and decide for yourself.

There's a smiley face. I'd take it as joking around. I would respond with something like "Being at the computer makes me feel closer to you "

OR

"I am just so excited about meeting you that I'd rather plan our time together than lay tile."

It wouldn't be white-wash as I'm sure that's exactly how you feel, right?

I would respond with "looks like you are already taking charge of my house.. GOOD! "

I agree with many, that it looks like an innocent joke.  Most likely your reaction was provoked by the past and your ex-girlfriend's remarks on spending too much time at the computer.  However, do watch and observe your girl.  There is some truth in every joke and your girl might be trying to get bossy or already be in control.  Just see if this is something you want/would tolerate in a relationship.  I hope you both have a great time during her visit!

You need to make more of an allowance for "lost in translation" than you are in this case. 

With words, you ask her to explain. I always assume my wife is making a mistake
when I or others think she said something rude. Just ask her to explain what she meant.

If an FSUW says something that sounds rude. First look into her eyes, you can tell
if she is angry or not. In the written word, you just ask her. It's actions that you
should not allow to be explained away by language or culture.

Over half of your first arguments will be over misunderstandings. 90% of my arguments
my first couple years with Angel Eyes were misunderstandings. You should have a
conversation, that neither of you will get mad at something said until you allow the
other to explain first.

One of our earliest USA arguments. I said to Angel Eyes that she was stubborn. She was
immediately very angry with me. I looked up the Russian word for stubborn.
It's upryamyy (I know it's difficult to remember). After I told her the word, she said
Oh yes Beel, I am stubborn. I thought you said stupid.

I said, I would never be with a stupid girl. Ty umnaya devushka! (You are a clever girl). 
The argument was over forever, I had a happy wife.
