A woman is responsible for her own happiness.  Be yourself, and if it does not make her happy, find another fish in the sea.  If you stay, you would become just as miserable as her.

Most men are quite happy to overlook that when a pretty face is before them :) A good clue is to listen to what a woman says about her other relationships. If other people are always responsible for her being responsible, then best to cut and run IMHO.

But let's not skim over the fact that there are many both men and women in this pursuit that are willing to gamble much more than they should and sometimes, they lose.

I do think when it comes to FSU women there is nothing in the world that can compare to a good one and probably few women from anywhere who can be much worse than a bad one.

If you're the type who would pay somebody $2,000 cash in advance so they can buy paint and ladders to come back tomorrow and paint your house, MAYBE you shouldn't attempt to date internationally.

For any [adult] guy to contact underage girl on the internet for friendship is...      Clearly a loser.

.... I've never understood why serious men think it's a good idea to chase after women that don't speak their language. Real relationships are based on communication not just sex.

Filing the following under Wisdom.

1- Don't rush the proposal. Instead of being a 1 or 2 trip wonder, use time as a transparency tool. The few girls looking to immigrate are on a mission, they won't wait. That means that time is on your side. Wait. A gal who sees a sincere man consistently working on a goal, yet without rushing, knows that he is worth waiting for. If not, NEXT.

2- Don't rush the honeymoon. Too many guys honeymoon first, commit next, and then get to know her family and friends last. That is backasswards. Get to know family and friends (HUGE clues are found in those relationships), commit later, honeymoon dead last.

The thing is, it is foolish to make one trip and choose a woman like you would choose a new sofa.

...... most men who come to FSU countries to find a wife are 35+, so that's what the ladies have to choose from, it doesn't mean they like older men, they just want to be happy and have to choose from what they have.

My point was that exaggeration about RWs is  too much some times, especially how should a man to take care of a RW, what does he need to prepare for a RW, what should his income be to satisfy her life and so on  :)

While I agree that for some things a human translator is best, the main thing needed is a will to communicate. If that is present, communication will happen regardless of obstacles.

The challenge IMHO is not knowing for sure whether there is compatibility, rather ensuring that you do not ignore/block out/muzzle your intuition or inner voice, rationalizing away the irrational. People sadly believe when all the evidence is contradictory, write off bad behaviour as "cultural" and are convinced that the problems that are already evident after days will magically solve themselves or go away when they are married and living together.

I do not think happiness should be dependant. I think being happy is something one finds in him or herself. Sharing a happy life with another person, that it is truly an amazing way to live.

As the Mexicans say, money belongs not to the man who makes and saves it but to the person who spends it.   :) There is more to the Mexican saying......ending with "love belongs to the man who gives love."

FSU women are not a get-out-of-jail-free card for the socially inept or those inexperienced with women. Quite the opposite, in fact.

To me its pretty simple:
If a western man, looking for a Russian woman, can't generally find something useful in the opinions expressed by RW here, (even if he doesn't agree with them )
then he really should think about his choices.
