Happy Birthday.  You just couldn't wait like the rest of us...

I don't need a camera for my birthday.  His and her bicycles are on the menu for that day (I know as I picked them out yesterday).

I did buy my wife a digital still camera for Christmas before last, and a digital camcorder last year as a present to celebrate the day we met (along with all the 'traditional' Woman's Day stuff).

I know... I'm a terrible husband...  :P

Does anyone share the same year, 1950?

Mom says I was born on a Sunday, April 23 at 12:45pm.

Just got from the phone with my Russian friend. I told her about this discussion and she said that once she had the same like Irina reaction on a present. The thing is that a guy gave her the picture frame (with her picture in it). The second she saw it, she got really upset, because it was almost identical with the frame on her grandmother's grave.

Well, I think we, RW, are totally unpredictable. I wonder how men can guess what we need, if sometimes we, ourselves, don't know what we need. :D

Clyde,

You gave an excellent gift. Don't let it get you down. Sometimes people like to control your self esteem and your personality. You did good man. As you know I raised 2 boys and they were taught to always say thank you when even given a cookie. Stay strong buddy.

Clyde, did your wife put her sister's candy and money on the shelf too?

My birthday is around the corner in January. I accept Mastercard and Visa. If you're short on cash, then I suggest putting my gift on layaway. Don't get cheap on me now or I got me a 55 gallon drum of whup ass and I'm a gonna pour it all over you!

Billy,

I had a personal tour through that box factory in Sorrento as it was owned by my business partner's inlaws.  Very interesting (and simple) how they make the boxes.  Their family also owned a resaurant on the beach where we had one of the finest seafood meals ever.

I was advised by a good friend to have this thread deleted.

In a way it is a good learning tool for newbies to see these type posts but it may backfire if my wife ever sees it. I wanted to find out if this behavior is typical of a RW. It seems to be a reaction an AW might also have about an unwanted gift.

I need to clarify that I love my wife very much and I have no intention of doing anything rash like trading her in. She is stuck with me for the duration. We have many good times and a few misunderstandings but I always see her love and caring in other ways.

Maybe  I shouldn't give here any advices for you, but it seems to me that next  holiday the best persent which you can do for both of you is get her a  GC and divorce papers in a greeting card. Just get rid of her, she is  like a poison for you, don't you see it?
Hard words from a RW who probably sees things more clearly than most.

Well, when enough is enough?

Sorry, I didn't mean to break the rules, never will give such advice  any more. Everybody should decide for themselves in such situation.

The thing which I know for shure, very often when we are INSIDE the situation our emotions blur the real picture.

At the end, every one chooses their own way and have to live happy or miserably depending on that choice.[/quote]
Rose,

I have very much enjoyed your posts here. You (and the other FSUW  here) have a wonderful and unique perspective to give to this  community. Don't hold back on your opinions. Often we (men that is) do  not see, understand, or think about the other side of the issues. It is  good for all to have this viewpoint.

We bought wall-clock from them with exactly the same pattern when we were in Sorrento last June. :)

SoC,

I know she doesn't like your posting/reading here but, to me,  this is not personal information. It is experience/situational in  nature. It is really no different that her talking to her girlfiends  about your life together.

Elena reads here sometimes and I ask her opinion on different  situations that I read here. She often gives me a view that I had not  thought about which will give me a bit more to think about before I  post or decide not to post.

I'm really happy for you that things for the most part are  working out well and progressing. As other members have posted I also  think a good conversation about this is warrented.

Clyde,

If you gave a fair representation of the events that happened, why worry?  If your wife is shamed by you telling of her behavior then there is further proof that her behavior is not acceptable.  If she doesn't like you telling the stories, then it might be time for he to modify her behavior.

BTW, I don't think acting the part of a spoiled brat knows any national boundries.

What ever happened to the camera?

Personally I think Rose is right and there is certainly no need for her to withhold her comment ...this woman sounds spoiled, selfish, ungrateful...but some guys will accept any behavior.

The camera was a thoughtful, heartfelt gift! Not only did you consider her love of photos ...you made sure not to "cheap out" as yopu could have picked up a $100 model...

She is an inconsiderate person and she deserves less not more! Its one thing to joke about a dumb husband buying a dumb gift....but this doesnt come close to that....

Get her fishing boots next time....:-)

Let's be sure then that when the two of you buy your dream house with pool that you don't hire an Italian poolboy.

If the pool boy misbehaves, I will call uncle Vito.

Damn, I wish I had been Italian or even half italian.  I could have been a pool boy when I was younger and had a lot more fun than what I did.

If you don't mind, would you tell us what happened with the camera? And, how did she handle your birthday?

Did anyone get a spanking or is that also not a Russian custom. I guess that would also include the Greek Navy as well.
