Olga_Mouse,

Just for you (and anyone else who wants to use it) - see attached screenshot.

Oh happy day! [where's the "bow" smiley?]

"Read rulez" one is an absolutely cool one!

"Too much information" makes me wanna play that old Duran Duran maxi-CD again :)

P.S. My other favourite on another side of the moon is "a girl filing nails" smilie. Oh, and "angel" :)

P.P.S. BTW, when I try to click on [more], sometimes the post I've typed before trying to click [more] disappears. Does it have something to do with my own security settings and pop-up windows being blocked?

???

Olga_Mouse, thanks, some humor would help this thread.

Thanks for appreciating [imagine "tiphat" smilie from another forum here...]

In conducting our poll, may we count you as as fully furred?
Otherwise, where would you stop with the epilation?

No-shag-Kev's original question was about pubic hair, or public hair? Have I misunderstood something here?

Do you mean Qi or Chi, i.e. "vital energy", the Chinese equivalent of Sanskrit prana?

It may well be well be spelled in that manner Sandro (qi). Hard to know when these words are spelt using the English alphabets. Life energy...

OK, it's the Japanese variant, as in Ai-ki-do ("the Way of unifying with life energy"), which also seems the source of many of the exercises shown in your link.

Exercise #4 (Tekubi Furi Undo - "shake your hands real fast as though you just washed your hands and the darn bathroom is out of paper towels.") is well known in the West, too, as an unwinding exercise - some sources claiming that one is thereby expelling negative forces from the body. Other exercises, like #9 and 10, resemble more Chinese Tai Chi (where Chi seems to mean fist rather than energy).

Anyway, regardless of its specific local name, the basic Far Eastern concept is that this vital energy is not normally flowing freely in the body, hampering both it and the mind, and some activity is necessary to redress the situation, with benefits then accruing first on the physical level and then on the 'other' levels.

Yes, for the [more] smiley set to appear, you must allow a pop-up window. There are quite a number of smileys available in the pop-up.

I concur Sandro, and likely one that I believe our OP really need to give a bit of attention to. let that energy free itself and thus the body and mind follows....

OK, I tried to watch it anyway -- and then remembered that my computer's audio doesn't work, either ...

But I always did like "The Bob Newhart Show" back in the 70's ...

Can anyone tell me what this clip is about?

Bob Newhart plays a therapist. A woman comes in because she is afraid of being buried in a box and is thus afraid of all enclosed places (tunnels, elevators, houses, etc...). He has a 5 minute session and the therapy he offers is two words "stop it"  ;) She goes through a list of problems and he tells her "stop it." She starts talking about mother, etc... He tells her "we don't go there, stop it." Finally, he ends with the 10 words to get her to stop: "stop it or I will bury you in a box"

I could (sorta) SEE them talking, but I couldn't HEAR it ...

Kevin - I even added one due to your recent participation --  :TMI:

Not that I am accusing you - just that you mentioned it frequently so that when I saw the smiley, I felt it appropriate to add.

- Dan

So I come back, just over a year later, to discover that the old :TMI: emoticons in this thread --
created by Dan expressly for ME -- have been reduced to " :TMI: " ... Wassup w' DAT???

I just now skimmed back through this thread for the first time in over a year, and let's just say --
"There are things I'd do differently now" ... At this time last year, it seems I was in quite a state,
but I'm definitely in a "better place" now ...

Anyway, for those of y'all who may remember me, I just wanna thank everyone who
tolerated all the TMI and who offered constructive criticism and thoughtful advice ...
Daveman, Faux Pas, GQBlues, Gator, AJ, and OlgaH all come to mind readily, and
I even have a fond memory of that pitbull character ...

I came to realize that this forum really wasn't meant for me after all, but
I still enjoyed (most of!) the interaction here, and I learnt some good stuff ...

Hope y'all are faring well these days!   :D

Kevin

P.S.  OK, this whole business of not seeing :TMI: has changed now ... Maybe I wasn't logged in?

Heya Kevin,

Nice to see you alive and well.  ;D

We had a forum version upgrade during the time you were exploring other realms which affected some of the emoticons.

How has it been going?

Hey Dave!

Yeah, talk about an UPGRADE!!!  I was stunned when I first logged back in after a year
to see just how different everything looks ... When I first skimmed through this thread
again, I thought the old TMI emoticon had simply been removed from the RWD lexicon --
thereby destroying my RWD legacy -- but I soon discovered that it's now LOWERCASE
" :TMI: ", and then I was happy once again ...

Speaking of upgrades, I was also stunned to discover that you're not really a CAT!!!   :o
And you were just so cute, too ...

Still unemployed, still not dating ... As so many folks on here observed, I totally need
to get my act together before I can resume either one -- and in that same order, too ...
Unfortunately, things seem to move very slowly in my world, but that's getting better ...
I finally set up my whiz-bang $1300 desktop PC just so I could finally watch pitbull's
Bob Newhart clip (above), only to find that it's been deleted ... I guess now I'll just
have to find OTHER uses for this durn newfangled contraption ...

You were always one of the friendliest and most understanding voices on here, Dave ...
Thanks for that, and I sincerely wish the best for you and your wife (still RW, right?)   ;D

Kevin

P.S.  After writing this, I checked YouTube and Vimeo, and I found a bazillion other sources
for that Bob Newhart clip, which I then downloaded so that I have it for all (digital) eternity ..

P.P.S.  OK, this whole business of not seeing :TMI: has changed now ... Maybe I wasn't logged in?

Thanks, Misha!  Turns out there are a variety of versions on YouTube ...

I also found this 640x480 MP4 version on Vimeo ... Based on the relative
video resolutions and downloaded file sizes, it's probably of higher quality:

<iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/10880189?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0" width="400" height="300" frameborder="0"></iframe>

Sigh ... How do I imbed in HTML (I guess) on here?  Anyway, here's the link:

Regarding your getting kicked off while making a post. It happened to
me quite some time ago and then suddenly stopped happening.

Last night I had to retype an entire thread because I was timed out. When you log on you might try to see what the default
time is. For me it was 60 minutes which after reading a bunch of
threads was not enough. I have been logging in for 600 minutes instead and the problem went away. You might have something else
entirely though.

Thanks, JDG!  :)   (Sorry it took me 2+ weeks to discover your post) ...

Actually, though, I'm not NEARLY ready (yet) to kill EITHER of those two birds --
both my job skills AND my dating skills (if I ever HAD any!) have eroded greatly
over my years and years of "still unemployed, still not dating" ... And so I'd need
MASSIVE "refresher courses" in both of those areas first ...

But if I'm ever in a position to take advantage of those Web sites you posted, I surely will!  :)
